Nick, As always, I enjoy your videos…very good job indeed. Here in the States, running boards are optional on both vehicles, but we found seats in EQS SUV more plush, comfortable particularly with pillows for driver and co-driver. One little nit we had was door arm rests are more substantial, luxurious in EQS. EQE armrests are taken out of the C Class which we find a bit cheap. Not a good move by MB from our perspective. Having owned our EQS SUV for a year now, we have seen 400+ miles on a full charge in mild weather here in South Carolina. However, range falls as temperatures fall. Thankfully, we don’t get too cold here! Keep up the good work. Cheers, Flyboyflash

Thanks for the details. We are a family of 5 used to 7 seaters, we were astonished to find out the EQS has no 6 or 7 seat config here in the UK, a big let down if you ask me. Yet to decide with going for the Tesla X option now. But this is a huge letdown for large families looking to go green.

The EQS is simply ponderous. The proportions are scaled up.fronthe EQE. Not a fan of the EQS size. Chose the EQE as it's proportions are more pleasing. Mine is outfitted like the demonstrator in the video. Something to note, those AMG wheels are quite costly. I had to replace one at 2,500USD

S class and its variants are really tailored for chauffering, giving the extra luxury at the back (comfier seats, electric adjustments, larger sunroof etc). If you are buying the car to drive it yourself, you're better off with the E classes instead. Unless money really is isn't an issue for you. But then again, 6 figures for a car is absolute bonkers. There is a whole generation still working that bought properties for a quarter of what a car costs nowadays...

One of the main reasons for owning my Mercedes E-Class and for ordering a EQE SUV is the tank-like heavy safety of their autos, including the electronic safety features. Why when reviewing Mercedes does no one mention their incredibly safe, heavy and physical build with occupant protection in mind,with relation to most other cars that seem VERY light in physical protection? Volvo, too, has this tank-like quality.

@npoleary Жыл бұрын
Hey lovelee7283, Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos! I’d advise you double check, modern cars will tell you when you need a service and with Mercedes 90% of models are once a year OR every 15,000 miles (whichever comes first) If your car is telling you it needs a service, then it is most likely due one. I’m not aware that EQB’s are 2 years so I would advise to get it checked out! Chat with Mercedes to be 100% sure as I could be wrong.

The EQS SUV is horrifically overpriced for what it is. I mean, ~£130K/140K for these is crazy. The EQE is also overpriced - not quite as bad but horrific nonetheless. At these prices they are NOT good cars. The saloon version is a fair bit cheaper but still too expensive for what it is. The values of these things on the used market has plummeted spectacularly - proving how overrated they are. You can't even configure an EQS saloon on the Mercedes UK configurator - maybe Mercedes has worked out that nobody wants one and have stopped selling them in the UK. Loads of examples of 22-plate EQS saloons for sale for ~£61k with way less than 10K miles - and still not selling. These cars were £105k new! If you're in the market for one stay away from all 22-plate cars and go for at least a 23-plate with electrically reclining rear seats. Without these reclining seats they are horrendously uncomfortable if sat in them for 30 minutes or more. I have an EQS saloon and it's not an electric S Class. Nowhere near. On the whole, I think it's an 80K car (new) tops. Thankfully I leased it via a work scheme so it is unimaginably cheap. If they offer it to me for sub-30K at the end of the lease I might be tempted as long as I can flip it for a small profit. Even at that price I certainly wouldn't keep it.

They haven’t committed to full EV. They have over 30-35 models with only 10 of them EV’s. EV’s are always a choice in 2023, no one’s forcing anyone to change so if you want to go Petrol / Diesel then you can and will be able to for years. Plus this is why on my channel I review multiple brands and manufacturers now to give people a choice and offer my thoughts. So let me know what you want to see! @@npoleary I specifically asked my dealer what is the ratio of BEV:ICE in 2026 (my next target purchase). Answer: 80:20. Why? “The EV shift is picking up speed - especially in the luxury segment, where Mercedes-Benz belongs. The tipping point is getting closer and we will be ready as markets switch to electric-only by the end of this decade,” said Ola Källenius, CEO of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG. We're still in Beta-testing of BEVs. There are a lot of promising tech (hydrogen) that doesn't rape our resources (ICE or BVE). I think Toyota is realizing this with more hybrid, less EV.
@gratefulliving17609 ай бұрын
As tear-downs of multiple EVs from competing vendors show, the Mercedes ones are designed and manufactured really well. Especially in the areas of passive safety, active safety, comfort, durability, and serviceability. Yeah, EV prices are way too high at the moment. Yet they are bound to go down, and all the while Mercedes will keep the crucial patents, know-how, and production equipment acquired during the development of their initially very pricey EVs.

Hey GaryG1974, thanks for messaging! Having driven them side by side and checked out all of the materials, they are almost identical. I agree. Nick mentioned early in the video that the car he was in had lots of options - such as the sunroof. That pan roof is standard across both ranges. That's a very basic lack of knowledge which doesn't do credibility any good. Further, he ought to know there are very few option boxes to tick - especially on the EQS.
@npoleary11 ай бұрын
I decided to film this video very similar to how I filmed my EQE vs EQS video. As with all my videos I try not to go through spec too much as I do this full-time I want my videos to appeal to as many people round the world as possible. Spec varies round the world so I wouldn’t know if sunroof’s are standard elsewhere etc. having just been on the Mercedes website and looked at the EQE SUV sadly it doesn’t have a sunroof as standard, that’s why I mentioned it the video. You had me worried! Of course if you’re based elsewhere then it could be though. I just wanted to check the car’s out themselves and see what’s different with range, shape, size, boot, rear leg room and of course what they drive like. Having driven them back to back, they are almost identical on their drive. Always open to suggestions though guys, if I ran through spec though, the video can very quickly be out of date if Mercedes change their specification adding or updating things over months / years.
