Bought the 580 SUV, very nice except for charging. Took a short trip and the 589 would not charge at 12 EA charging stations, luckily it accepted charge on the 13th. Took it to Mercedes and there are 4 error codes on the 400V module. Mercedes said it would take some time to diagnose, figured 4-5 days. Almost 2 weeks and Germany engineers still don’t have a solution(???). Local service will not move forth without Germany HQ direction. So I bought the 580 about a month ago and including the addition of tint and a clear front bra, they have had the 580 for 3 weeks out of 4. That is terrible service, the car sits on the parking lot, they have inspected it twice in the near 2 weeks for a total of 6 hours. Sad!

U can use D- in the city for 1 pedal driving and batt recharging. Will extend the range and save the brakes

Aantal vragen en opmerkingen: 1) Had je de recuperatie in - staan? Dan kan de auto tot 195 KW regenereren en zou het hoge gewicht in de stad geen rol mogen spelen. Het zeer hoge verbruik dat u meldt heb ik zelfs bij benadering nog nooit gehad en ook nog nooit in een andere test op KZbin gezien. 2) De lage DC laadsnelheid komt omdat de accu niet voorverwarmd was. Door niet een laadstation, maar een verdere bestemming in de route te zetten, zal de accu automatisch voorverwarmen en krijg je wél 200 KW. 3) Tot slot is dit niet het juiste model voor lange afstanden. De 450+ komt veel verder doordat deze alleen achterwielaandrijving heeft. Eigenlijk is de 580 gewoon weggegooid geld naar mijn mening.

De recuperatie stond op de normale stand (in het midden). Ik vond dit het prettigste om te rijden en eigenlijk is het de bedoeling van de test om te rijden hoe ik normaal zou rijden en niet per se zaken aanpassen om meer range te halen. Persoonlijk zou ik wel eerder kiezen voor de 580 4MATIC o.w.v. vierwielaandrijving. Over het algemeen heb ik liever vierwielaandrijving in sportievere wagens ipv achterwielaandrijving. Dan heb je betere wegligging zeker met zo’n zware auto in de bochten.

Eqs 450+ has better results by range side but not for 0-100 performans, 450+ looks more sensible, kindly regards from Turkey 👋

Interesting to me that USA spec cars come with only a 9.6kW onboard charger. I wonder if I will be able to get a higher capacity onboard AC charger retrofit onto my EQS580? I would like to be able to take full advantage of my 19.2 kW home charger that I had installed 8 years ago for my 2014 Tesla Model S. I have a Tesla to J1772 adapter to continue using my Tesla charger. EPA range rating for the EQS580 is 330 miles or 528 kilometers. I take delivery next Monday. Interested to see if the range estimate is somewhat more realistic than was the one for my Tesla.

@@JohanDeHaes Thank you. I am rather excited as well. I am also retaining my Tesla Mobile charger with another TeslaTap adapter. The so called Mercedes Emergency Charging Cord only charges at 120 volts and would take days to deliver a significant charge. What sort of mobile charging solution does Mercedes provide in Europe?

Mercedes says it's somewhere between 650-680 km range? I already know i'll be doing 350-400 km driving 130km/h on the highway. it's sad how they always lie about the range.

No the WLTP range is claimed at 580km. And it was cold and the heating was activated. Both doesn't happen in the WLTP test. So it's hard for every car to ach9ieve the WLTP numbers.
