Mercedes G-CLASS Off-Road TEST DRIVE

The 2019 2021 Mercedes G Class, the luxury off road vehicle, has long been considered a design icon. Its external appearance has not changed significantly since 1979. Iconic elements continue to serve very specific purposes, now as then, and to give the G-Class its unique appearance. All these are still found in the new G-Class: the distinctive door handle and the characteristic closing sound, the robust exterior protective strip, the exposed spare wheel on the rear door and the prominent indicator lights.
The new 2019 Mercedes G-Class performs even better off-road, while on the road it is significantly more agile, dynamic and comfortable than its predecessor. The G thus remains a true G - thanks to its standard ladder-type frame, the three 100-percent differential locks and LOW RANGE off-road gear reduction.
In the new G500 a high-performance 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine ensures powerful propulsion. The new biturbo produces an output of 422 horsepower (310 kW) and a maximum torque of 610 Nm at 2000 to 4750 rpm.
The AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine now also replaces the previous 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine in the G63. It generates 585 HP (430 kW) in this model, and delivers a maximum torque of 850 Nm at 2500 to 3500 rpm. It absolves a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62mph) in 4.5 seconds. This dynamic performance is maintained up to the limited maximum speed of 220 km/h (136mph), or 240 km/h (149mph) with the AMG Driver‘s package.

i’ll always love the fact that the MB G-Wagon is the only mass produced luxury SUV that comes standarx with not one, not two, but THREE locking diffs. i literally can’t think of a single situation off-road that you wouldn’t be able to get yourself out of with one combination of locked diffs or another. so cool 👍

What kind of "off road" test is this. That kind of gravel rd can be done with 2wd vehicle as long as it has a good ground clearance. Mud, sand, snow, valleys is what we want to see how well it will perform. Since ur revewing an expensive 4wd might as well do it all out.
