Mercedes M113 V8 Turbo & Wastgate in place. It is a little puzzle and still tight fit.
To merch the collector from each cilinderbank was a little challenge. Also to choose a position for the turbo and still have room for an airfilter. But also have enough room to intalle the external wastgate. and have room to get the blow off side back in to the downpipe
The intake of the exhaust housing is 2.5" with a V-band. The outlet is 3" with a V-band. What makes the installation easy and fast. The compressor side has a 2.5"outlet and a 4"inlet.
The turbo is a Pulsar GTX3582R rated for a 2 -4.5ltr engine with a power output from 450-900hp. So my engine with 5.0 ltr is on the big side. What will make this turbo spool up very fast. So the 60mm wastgate from BSI inc. or Black sheep industries is really needed to keep the turbo in the wanted flow and pressure characteristics.
This is a rollerbearing turbo with oil and water cooling. This like a copy of a Garret GTX3582R but it will save you 1500euro. the turbo is internally the same only so small differences in materials on the exhaust side.
My goal is 500WHP and 700WNM in hot wheater conditions. So i will aim on around 520-530 DIN WHP and 740-75o DIN WNM i think i will need around 0,7 to 0,9 bar max .
With a compression ratio of 1-10 this engine will be knock limited on some point on 98 octane pump fuel i think this will be before 600 crank HP But we will see. i have no intention to push this to the limit. goal is @ this point 500WHP 700WNM all year long

I have flipped the intake manifold around. You’ll need to use some spacers to have the throttle body clear the thermostat housing and/or modify the thermostat housing. The M112/3K front cover is different and might clear the throttle body without spacers tho, haven’t tried. Would possibly be the most elegant solution.

Any pictures of the manifold flipped? Would make things easier for piping from intercooler to manifold for sure.

Props for actually doing this! I’ve been wanting to turbo my W215 and didn’t know if the m113 was capable! Now it’s time to get some research done and start this project! Thanks for the upload! Btw any advice on turbo size for a mid power build currently sitting 345whp, looking for 450-500 healthy

You can use a gtx3582r. Just like i have my initial goal was like 500whp. Now with the e85 setup i will max out the turbo around 650-700whp. This complete build is also to find on JMSpeedshop.com under projects

Nice to know that the intake manifold can be flipped, always wondered about that. It has double runner length with an actuator in the rear to switch right?. Maybe possible to wire in to the ecumaster?

Yes . I have seen IT on another engine the way around. And yes IT should be possible to connect IT to a standalone Just like a cam timing output OR so

Yeah Wilhelm, you just do two runs. One with the long runners, one with the short runners and then you set it to switch at the point where the shorter length improves peak performance

@@JMSpeedshop Where have you seen m113 manifold flipped? I plan on turboing as well 5.4 liter in the clk. I will be using the e55 ecu and wire harness to go from me 2.8 to me 28.1.

The 300 TDT had it's front wing on the right side perforated with 3 little slits. Might help to get that extra air in, or for cooling? Ik zag die turbo en moest er meteen aan denken. Past vrij netjes daar onder de kap! Zilver met rood of blauw met rood?

Ja past vrij goed . Koeling ga ik nog wel wat op verzinnen. Zoek deze sleuven in polyester. Mag ook per stuk zijn maar als.je iets weet hoor ik het graag

@@JMSpeedshopIk dacht dat het 3 sleuven waren, blijken er echter 5. Het zijn enkel openingen in het plaatstaal. Er zit niets van ander materiaal bij of aan. De sleuven zitten net achter de richtingaanwijzers.

Ja die sleuven kan ik wel maken allen het is gestanst. Dus het heeft een boling naar binnen. Misschien ook ik nog wat tegen opzich is het geen must . Heb nog wel een idee hiervoor

On the early m113 engine's is a oil pressure sensor Just below the oil filter housing. On later models there is also a small plate on the timing cover there is a plug. Here i Will get the oil feed to the turbo

The M113k supercharged cars survive power increases for years and there isn't a huge difference between the two so if you do blow yours maybe fit one of those.

Pistons are same strenght but rods are the Wealer point between a normall OR a k engine . But people have run these in the region of 600hp on e85 with no problem. But i have more reach ro e85 so i Will run 98 octane . And IT Will be knock Limited at a certain point

Mine is a non amg. But believe hand build OR not a non amg 5.0 is also forged pistons are same strength. First week point is rods but this Will in the range of 650hp i think
