Hello Woodsand Thank-you for the excellent rebuild videos by any chance could we get together and rebuild my 617? It currently has a ticking noise in the top end that I can not seem to locate. I an in N.W. In. not far from you.

Thank you I am glad you are enjoying the videos. I wont be able to get together with you and help rebuild your engine, however, you can totally do it yourself. The manual and videos are all on my website. Just follow the instructions and spend this spring knocking it out. You can do it!!!

@@mercedesmaintenance.6339 You need to call Pierre hadary down in Florida. He specializes in those cars and I think he would be better suited for one of those pump rebuilds. Just type in his name and the word Mercedes on Google and you will find his contact info.

A lot of guys just do it by Feel and listen to the engine. There's also a drip method you can look up online that's more specific. One second between drips.

What sealer did you use for the upper oilpan to the engine block ? I'm about to put my engine back together

The factory used anaerobic sealant you can buy it it's made by permutex

When I turn my engine over by hand it makes all sorts of sounds compression sounds and other sounds.

@@woodsandbarclay I'm alittle confused on the rope seal for the rear part of engine I saw on your previous video how you installed and cut it to length but does the other half goes on the bottom aluminum part of the oil pan? Thanks

@@performancerobert8311 yes sure does. The upper oil pan has a slot in it for the other half of the rope seal.
