In this video we are showing you a common problem with Mercedes Radio. Most Mercedes cars after 2002 come with the optic cable which could be very problematic. If your radio works but there is no sound coming out of the speakers than this video will help you to decide if it is the Radio Unit or the Optic Cable.
Also, it will say that there is no Cd Player/Changer Installed because the radio is not contacting with the CD Changer via the optic cable.
The chip that we replaced yu can find on eBay for less than $7.
It will take you about 2 hours to do everything but you can save yourself $300 for a repair or even thousands for new Radio. If you do it right the radio will work great and the AUDIO will work great.

Question, took my 2012 c300 into MB for the same issue. They said it was not fuse related, but that I would need an entirely new unit because they had no idea what was wrong. (est. cost is $3,000 there) Any other things this could be ? other than fuse or cable ?? Thinking about just buying one on ebay and putting it in myself.

the fiber optics cable flashes only once after i take it out of the radio and my am works perfectly fine only fm doesn't and it says no cd changer installed, would that be the chip or something else

World Mechanics Hi,my radio cuts in and out in my 2001 mercedes benz s430. All the lights light up and I even used a bypasser splicer for the tele aid because it wasn't working in the begining and the sound will work only every once in a blue moon. What do you think the problem is because driving sucks without the radio/music from my bose speakers.

Thanks for the vid. I've replaced the chip. I didn't have any optic output from head unit prior to chip change. However now I've got constant red light instead of 4 blinks and still no sound. I have already bypassed tele aid and CD changer. Any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks.

+ANCADO Agencja Kreatywna Have you checked the AMP. It is under the dash on the drivers side. It is not easy to locate but if you lay down in the foot well and look up it will be on the left side above the pedals

Hi there i was very excited when chip finally arrived from china (this morning) so i replaced it and vuala sound came on cd is working, but al this last only 1 hour, after one hour i took the stereo out and i still didn have fiber optics cd on the unit, i love music and without audio in the car im going crazy, do you knowIf those chips go bad or there is something that i have to replace as well whats prevents it to go bad, btw my FM sound is been very low for long time but cd and everything else even am works perfectly
