Was it a nice car? Sure, but definitely not "peak Mercedes". The previous CL generations were superior, especially the C140 and C216. The C216 was available with 6.3 NA V8s and 6.0 V12s. The C140 came with V12s up to 7.3l which were basically Zonda engines.
