9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. I was ready to go out and check every fuse in my Mercedes E320 hoping to find what's draining my battery. When the car is off I hear a beep I bought every 30 seconds. The red SOS light in the roof is on in the display keeps telling me SOS VISIT WORKSHOP. Before I started tearing into my fuse boxes I decided to Google the problem. I'm going to take the SOS switch out and see if that solves the problem and order a new one. I've had this car for 5 years and it is by far the easiest vehicle I've ever worked on. I changed the front module two months ago. Extremely easy. Put a new water pump after I purchased the car, easiest water pump I ever installed. I love the German engineering. Thank you, in my case this fixed my sos light on problem, I pulled this switch out opened it cleaned it installed it back BOOOOOOM fixed.

Hello I have a question and hoping u can help me out. I have a 2006 cls500 I change both of my headlights and my right side doesn't work. Its been doing this for awhile with the old headlights. The headlights brand are (Hella) it's regular Halogen light bulb not HID I checked all fuses and I could not find anything. Please let me if there's anything else I can check.. Thank you many 🙏

I have an older ML with the SOS module and a telephone connected. I believe the service is no longer available for older cars. Is there a way to reprogram these buttons to dial a phone number instead when pressed? example to code the SOS button to dial an emergency number on the phone automatically?

Nice video... thanks. It is my understanding that the Tele Aid / SOS system was set up when analog signal was used. Now all signals are digital, and the digital is NOT compatible with this old analog setup. I think this is why my 2003 SL500 Benz has the SOS warning on the dash. I am not sure how to get rid of this problem... any idea ?

You're correct! The analog towers/systems are gone now. Mercedes will do an upgrade (not free) to switch over older vehicles.

I had this happen to me on a 2012 ML350.. I replaced the headlight on the car with another one, and after that the car won't start giving me the take to workshop message. For some reason something in the headlight was preventing the car from starting.

+Humza Mahomed it's not your switch.. Your 2006 vehicle has the older module that is no longer talking to the newer towers. You have two options. Have Mercedes disable the sos system or get the updated module from Mercedes.

Доброго дня! Вчера сделал роковую ошибку! Нажал кнопку SOS на фонаре подсветки салона! Сразу же появилась ошибка, рекомендующая обратиться в сервис, и совсем не хочет исчезать! И все бы ничего, интернет пишет, что можно с этим жить! Но эта зараза посредством Tele AID высадили мне за два дня акум в ноль! Пробуя дозвониться в Калифорнию, каждые 5 минут! Пока ничего умнее не придумал, чем отключить эту хремь механически в багажнике! Кто сталкивался, как побеждать?
