The US is very strict about laws when it comes to pyrotechnics. The band and staff have to perform the show for a fire marshal before they perform the show for a live audience, so the fire marshal can approve the performance. The person he lit on fire in this video is one of the band's pyro technicians who poses as a fan. Not only does it create a crazy performance, but it discourages fans from rushing the stage because everything on stage needs to be planned and choreographed when using pyro for everyone on stage to be safe.

In the US the local authorities are quite strict about such stories and to be able to do something like that in Madison Square Garden in New York City you have to have a good reputation and present a convincing concept. During their first US tour in smaller towns and in front of much smaller audiences, Rammstein had some problems with the local authorities and sometimes a concert was cancelled by the police or Till was arrested.

Till and Flake were arrested in Worcester, Massachusetts for their Buck Dich performance in 1998. They said the main problem wasn't even the arrest as much as they had scheduled court dates and had to keep going back to prove that no actual sexual act happened on stage. That's why they don't do the standard Buck Dich performance in the US anymore. All thanks to the Worcester Massachusetts Court System. Thanks a fucking lot, Worcester. 😆😆

I really appreciate performance but its Mid-high tempo ;) I say it as a drummer. Ofcourse for Rammstein is pretty fast song but iif you compare it with Azarath... ;)

And? Most of the people die inside by the age of 25 for some reasons, I will never understand. And people like Till and I, are sometimes still childish. He as the stage persona in Rammstein, me as an actress on the theatre stage, or in front/behind a camera. We should be grateful, that he did not already die inside, like so many others, already did.

Love your reactions, this is one of my favorite songs of theirs! We bring a bluetooth speaker and play Benzin when we are dog sledding with our huskies here by Yellowstone park haha. Mushing to Rammstein is something I recommend everyone do at least once! 😋

Hello. I’m here in England. Despite the health and safety excesses we have here, all of the Rammstein tours that I have seen have featured the same level of pyrotechnics that you have reacted to, so the ‘fan’ was set alight during ‘Benzin’, for example (Wembley Arena 2010). I think the band have experienced problems with strictures in the USA, if not in the most recent (open air) stadium tour but certainly on previous ones in enclosed venues in certain states.

IIRC the idea for this song came from Paul Landers, one of the guitarists, not Till ;). He wanted a song about something flammable since Rammstein always used a lot of fire in their shows.

Don't tell me about "Risk assessment sheets". Even for my shorts (up to 25 Minutes) I often need to fill out 2,5 DinA4 pages. Yes, I have a level 8 degree in digital film production and did it in the UK. I really find it sad, that so logical things, which are on it, are not done by the persons themselves, because otherwise those sheets would not exist. Thanks for your reactions. ❤

This is a great one! The video is awesome and fun as well..actually..one of those that make me laugh..typical Rammstein! ..about this one live, i hear a lot the official, and due the download and re-upload, the sound quality decreased a lot..! You check out yourself..
