Gotcha, yeah your prop to pad I’m sure is much lower than mine as that boat won’t do 66mph as my Sabre does.

I’m 47 mph on a good day. My boat is deep and wide, and makes grandma happy when we have the grandkids on board.

Im impressed with mine man in about 65 to 75+ miles i use about 12 to 13 gallons 1 way then i have to double that on my way back home and use under 30 gallons

Mercury supplied the ProXS mounts and I paid to install them shortly after this, they were definitely an improvement and I was back to being able to control the chine walk again.

I am not a fan of that single trim cylinder mount. I like the motor but that is a lot weight with no secondary support. I don't understand why they stay with it. It is the only 150 with a single trim cylinder. I had a 115 that completely wore out the mounts with that idea. I can't see a 150 not having the same. Have you had any wearing issues due to the bouncing around?

I agree and wasn’t a fan either, but it hasn’t failed and they do run single rams on offshore setups. The faster trim is something that has to be gotten used to when airing out a boat as there’s not the typical trim/tilt range, but it’s nice to be able to trim up/down fast in some cases. I replaced the original mounts with the ProXS mounts when it was released as it was designed for bass boats, they helped limit the movement.

@@vegaman72 I will keep that in mind. I have a walleye style glass boat. I have a 150 proxs 2 stroke on it....it runs great but it is loud and I have never been happy with that part of it. The four stroke 150 had just come out when I bought it and I just couldn't deal with that single cylinder mount again after my previous motor. It's nice to know it has held up for you. Thanks for the info. I may look into getting one. My 2 stroke is 9 years old and it's still good at the moment but the price of oil is starting to get crazy. Thanks again for the info

You’re welcome, the 4-stroke is nice not having to add oil and it’s quieter. Had a 60hp prior to this one on an aluminum bass boat, honestly don’t think you’d have an issue running the 150 on a Walleye boat as you’ll run deeper in the water than my bass boat and not as fast either. The original mounts I believe were soft because it was designed to not transfer NVH on rigid pontoon boats and the 4-cylinder isn’t as smooth running as a V6.

what kind of prop do you run and what size boat? We got a 150 pro xs with 18ft boat. But we porpoise at slow rpm on glass water. but when on rougher water it don’t do it the jack plate helps us handle bigger waves too

I run 3 props a 25” Fury and Tempest, this was a 24” Trophy which does best in rough water. The porpoising is from too much trim and the motor is trying to lift hull then it falls as not enough power to hold bow up, starts bouncing as it bites then unloads. This an 18’ boat as well, what’s your PTP and what prop do you spin and what kind of speeds do you run?

@@vegaman72 we ran the 21 off the old one. we might need to re mount 1/4. it almost like we can’t trim up but 1 hair. the plate above the prop is offset from the bottom of the boat.

Motor is loose Why would you drive it like that? In the other video the boat is in the trailer and the motor is loose this person is really ignorant

Nope, just the stock mounts aren’t meant for a performance boat and the reason they came out with stiffer ones on the ProXS. Mercury told me there was nothing wrong when I sent them the video and took it in to the dealer, they’re the experts right?

Upgraded to the stiffer Pro XS mounts and it calmed it down, the regular 4-stroke mounts weren’t meant for a performance bass boat.
