Out of 50 videos on KZbin, you were the only one who showed how to remove that damn water pump from the engine, everybody cut the part when you have to struggle with that damn thing to get it off 🥵

I always use a sealant also. Not necessary but I always have. And ALWAYS be careful tightening any aluminum part, it will snap an ear off way easier than you think

@jeremy321003 жыл бұрын
I wish they still made these cars they were one of the most dependable and reliable ones that Ford produced one thing I like about these cars is they are super easy to work on you have a lot of room inside the engine compartment under the hood that water pump remove and install looked fairly simple and pretty easy for the most part. Unlike these smaller cars on the road their engine compartments are a lot smaller they're not as easy to work on

They had to pull the engine on my father in law’s 09 Lincoln MKZ to replace the water pump. 😬

Great video,but why your engine bay is red?
@fixinit3 жыл бұрын
Lol. That’s from all the rusty water that sprayed all over the place when they over heated the car. That’s why you should never use plain water instead of a 50/50 water antifreeze mix.
@josephcazzuto71983 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I just assumed it was red clay from living in the desert and whatnot, lol.

The orange makes it much easier to see everything in the video. Usually, everything is black on black and dark. I wonder if sidewalk chalk disolved in water then spray on work area would make videos easier to understand.

So you don't need to put the rubber ring on the thermostat? Because I have the same car and when I try to put it in with the ring it doesn't fit. So should I leave it out? And thanks for the info
@fixinit3 жыл бұрын
You need an O ring. I was asked this before and I think the old O ring was stuck on the cover. I can’t remember. I didn’t leak. 😂 So you drop in the thermostat then the O ring drops on top of the thermostat. Then you can install the cover.

I've been trying to figure out (without calling the dealer, because i am hard headed) the proper water pump part number for my 99 crvic lx, and all sites have like 15 options, most are for interceptor. Some have open vanes like yours and some closed (apparently better flow).
@fixinit3 жыл бұрын
Best way is to find a place that will look up the part you need based on your vehicle vin #, Like the dealer, Lol. Once you get the correct OEM part # you should be able to buy the part anywhere.

@@fixinit That is a pain in the ass to replace. The newer models with the metal housing are good. There was a recall involved in the past. The plastic breaks asks me how.
