Ford's 4.6 V8 engine was used in various Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles since 1992. The water pump in this engine is easily accessible and it is held in place by 4 bolts. The local mechanic quoted us $400 to replace the water pump. What a Rip Off! The water pump replacement was easy and we did the entire job plus the new thermostat in less than an hour.
