The Who - I Can See For Miles (Tommy Live At The Royal Albert Hall)
Available Now: mercury-studio...
On 1st April 2017, The Who took to the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall to deliver a blistering performance of their legendary rock opera, Tommy. Written by Pete Townshend almost 50 years ago, the full-length piece had, until then, never been performed live by the band. In a rare treat for fans, The Who decided to perform Tommy for the first time ever in its entirety for their participation in the annual Teenage Cancer Trust benefit shows. These shows are produced every year by Roger Daltrey at the iconic Royal Albert Hall to raise essential funds for the specialist treatment of young people with cancer.

Townshend was/is definitely one of the best rock guitar players ever. I think that his guitar playing tends to overshadowed by his songwriting -- and his stunt of smashing his guitars in his early years was also a distraction!
@anthonygerace332
@anthonygerace332 5 ай бұрын
@@peterblack3665 Also --- Townshend never acted like a performative guitar hero. No ten minute solos. Instead he was brilliant at lightning-quick switches between rhythm and lead guitar -- with Entwistle and Moon as the perfect co-creators. He, Moon and Enwistle had been playing live since they were teenagers, and they could almost read each other's minds. When he did play lead, his solos were short, crisp and solid. "Saying a lot in a short period of time.".
