The boiler suit full on is great. I wore it area Kinks show in the 70s at Hammersmith and. Got a round of applause even before the band came on.

One of the greatest rock/pop songs ever mimed in front of an audience on day-release from a retirement home. Still happy to see it but pleased when Pete went to the Boiler Suit. This is his least good look.

Pete & the band were on a completely different planet than these dancers & TV producers. When this song hits the radio, every driver is instantly transported 2 his darkest place. Vengeance 4 social oppression.

TV shows back then rarely had live perfirmances-occaisional exceptions like when Hendrix stopped playing a song halfway through and broke into Sunshine of your love as Cream had just split,it was on the Lulu BBC show, the producers had a fit but could do nothing..

I know the BBC had a restriction about lip syncing to the record. This is most likely a BBC recording, especially for TV and Radio. I'm thinking this is from "Top of the Pops".
