That AoW is uh… crazy, actually. - Radahn was pretty much a Godfrey fanboy. - Speaking of, yes, the impetus for Radahn becoming the most powerful gravitational sorcerer in existence and halting the very stars, was to make sure he didn’t crush his horse. Whose name is Leonard. - In other news, got in a car accident, got home, sat down and put on some Merg Elden Ring. Good times.

Your Elden ring vids give me life. Also congrats on beating Radahn! Malenia infected him with scarlet rot and it ate away at his body and mind, similar to Millicent. He used to be the mightiest demigod… I suggest finishing up Caelid first and activating the great rune you got from Radahn at the divine tower! If you decide to go to the next big area I suggest not taking the lift but taking the other route. Taking the other route has a super fun legacy dungeon and you’ll cross paths with some npcs. And don’t worry you will have to use a lift later in the game anyways. There’s a legendary sword somewhere in Caria Manor that you missed. It’s in a secret area where you can drop down. There’s also a secret where you can drop down behind bestial sanctum. Lastly you should use the boiled prawns that you bought from Boggart. It gives a 15% boost to physical damage negation for 60 seconds. Which is pretty good.

So the thing unique about the radahn fight is you can summon all the npcs at once to have like 10 people fighting him together. That’s why it’s the “festival”, you can all challenge him as a team. Also, something funny you missed, if you summon patches he just leaves

Fun fact: If you look closely you can see a purple glow on Radahn's horse. He dedicated time to learn gravity magic so that he could keep riding his weak little horse even when he got so big. Even now that he's all gone, maybe there's still a tiny part of him that loves his horse. Ah I see you found that later on. Congrats on beating Radahn! Also Radahn's armor is one of the best armor sets in the base game. If you ever level up your carrying load more you can get medium load while wearing the full set

Some extra stuff I found about Radahn, and the unfortunate state he is due to the consequences of war, and such... If you check, you can see he doesnt have any feet(like Merg noticed!), just some "stubs"...some say they rotted away, while others believe it was sanded off from dragging them around in the sand, since he never leaves his horsey...I think it makes more sense they rotted away. Either way, I'd imagine its a good reason for him to not leave his horse (along the fact he is very fond of it!) Another thing is that all the arrows he uses in the fight, are actually weapons that are stabbed on his back. He just pops them out, and shoot right at you! You dont need a quill if you are your quill! He may be insane, but also kinda genius, eh?

As the army fell, every champion injured, a retreat was called. Though each warrior escaped alive, the injuries were many, and Radahn was left unscathed and undefeated. His might could not be challenged, not by a mortal. Every strike fell useless against his armor, and the festivals soldiers lay battered and ruined on the shore. It was clear that no one could match the power of this legendary general, and he would roam the lands for eternity. Lady Ranni would not complete her task, without the movement of stars. But then the skill god came, with the army out of the way. He had no need for summons or allies, they would fare better on the shore, away from the legendary duel. This was the true war, one not fought by armies but two deities, renown for their apparent invincibility. Merg charged Radahn on his horse torrent. This was not an ideal method for this foe, but the cherry enjoyed the view. He rushed towards the fabled general with the sorcerous katana held firmly in hand, barely equipped, his form a dark and mysterious shroud of pure confidence and heroism. The general leaped forward with his horse Leonard, kept in the air only by the force of magic, appearing as a grotesque leviathan monstrosity, his humanity long gone, overtaken by rot. As their blades clashed waves of blue and purple shattered into gold, sparks and flakes of metal flying in every direction. With no more than a few drops of life force to keep alive, the cherry dashed around the battle field slicing twice with a double, for each feral strike of Radahns greatswords. As Mergs blade slashed back and forth, moonlight shards of power rippled through the generals armor, tearing through bone as termites devour planks. Finally Radahn had had enough. The cherry had not. ( *Valstrax spotted* ) Radahn flew towards the sand, crashing into the earth, and sending sand flying into a magnificent storm, obscuring the battlefield under a curtain of darkness. But as Merg leaped to the side Radahn spent what human will he had left in his scarlet corpse, only to realize his final mistake. The double crossed his visage, and he burned in azure against the Moonveil. The general had spent so long unchallenged matched only by the skill of Malenia, felled only by the power of her scarlet disease. But now finally he was defeated and slain. Fitting that the hand to end his misery would be the true god of skill. The one who got gud. ''A pity'' thought the cherry, ''that not even Radahn would merit the challenge of the (+2) highland axe. As the stars resumed their path, Merg wondered if there was one worthy of such a weapon. After all, the greatest of the demigods had been challenged before. ''Malenia'' she was called. What cataclysm would break free if ever they were to meet in violence?

Considering how messed up the Elden Ring family tree is, Radahn is probably the most "normal" and honorable demigod out of all of them. The history with him and his horse is also really wholesome, especially once you stumble upon more of his lore. Defo deserves the prayer gesture

Death's poker is a REALLY good weapon solely because of its weapon art (ability thingy). The one that sends out the trail of fire deals SO much damage due to the fast-as-all-hell frost build up.

Radahn is I'd say my second favorite base game boss and just such a spectacle. He's a certified GOAT. Some fun facts: You indeed couldve just kept summoning and re summoning. Radahn is basically a raidboss which makes the canon part of it being a festival even more epic (also Patches comes in and leaves soon after lol). He is actually beatable with no horse! It's just slightly tighter timing but its still mostly attacking during some of the attacks you did. And the dodge roll actually makes the one gravity pull dodgeable. If you do tap into big weapons, Radahn's is a very fun option. Not only is the skill very good, but two handing it actually pulls out a second sword. Others have mentioned it but you can go back to Redmane Castle for an actual legacy dungeon experience. Theres certain triggers that make the festival become active and completely empty the place. Instead of Marika's tits for this one episode, praise the Starscourge!

Congrats in defeating Radahn The reason why the Redmane Castle was a bit strange is because it was in "festival mode", which removes almost all the enemies, enables the portals and pretty much blocks all the doors inside, the castle enters festival mode once you defeat two shardbearers and it should go back to normal now that you defeated Radahn, so you can explore it properly now if you want! Summoning Patches is a little joke in this fight, unlike the other summons, if you bring him into battle he leaves immediately lol The Death's Poker you got from that Death Bird is actually really powerful, it's ash of war can melt enemies pretty quickly

In Radahn's arena, if you walk along the foot of the distant mountain, you'll come across a catacomb, if you ever feel like you have extra time or don't want to move forward or just for completion's sake, you can head there!

Fighting Radahn on Torrent looks super unfun compared to fighting him on foot. There is no wrong or right way to play of course, but it surprises me to see you fight him with Torrent despite the game clearly punishing that strategy heavily. The gravity pull in attack that you hated so much is trivial to dodge on foot with a single timed roll. You not being able to approach Radahn for your attack is not as much of an issue on foot because you can roll through his attacks and stay close, allowing you to hit him between attacks. The homing projectiles and quadruple meteors are much easier to dodge on foot and getting hit once doesn't leave you open for damage for what feels like half a minute. In general if any attack from a main boss feels undodgable, than that is usually the game telling you to change your approach because only very very few attacks in this game are actually unfair. If you ever replay Elden Ring, I highly recommend treating yourself to Radahn again, but this time on foot. You'll find that not a single attack is unfair. Really difficult yes, but just as fair. Torrent is intended only for the attacks that obviously tell you so, meaning his meteor and rain of arrows. In fact, the punishment for getting thrown off Torrent arguably makes certain parts of the fight harder and not in a fun way.

I saw you were worried that you'd messed up Alexander's quest by not summoning him, but don't worry. In the base game, every single npc summon is optional even for their quest. You only need to speak with them after However, in the DLC if you ever want to play that, nearly all the npc summons are required to summon in order to progress their quests. It's just good to know

If you two-hand radahn's greatsword, instead of gripping it with two hands, your character just pulls another one from the depths of their anus or something. Then you just start Dual-wielding two swords the size of your body. :D

In Roundtable Hold you have Marika statue. You can use it to duel on arena. Behing Giga Jar Dude there is second colloseum You will find third and last later. And about Redmane Castle, it was empty and you could teleport beacause of Radahn Festival. If you would went earlier (or after you kill Radahn) it will be normal legacy dungeon. You basically triggered festival because of Ranni Quest. But dont't worry, you didn't skipped anything. Also there is one very important item there. So you definitely want to go back

FINALLY! I may know very little about this game, but if I know any bit, it's this - the ever-hungry, ever-bloodthirsty general Radann and his deranged meteor attack. Poor horsey holds his insane weight only thanks to him manipulating gravity and uplifting himself. Alas, day 570 of asking Merg to play Crosscode. BTW, Crosscode may not have horses, but it has cows! And goats, too! And penguins, and parrots and kitties of pure electricity (adorable but deadly on touch)! And some more... esoteric enemies, too...

FINALLY. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE SINCE THE SERIES STARTED OMG. Also by the way, Merg, there are only 14 Larval Tears around The Lands Between, so I'd only rebirth if I really want to.

That is Caelid pretty much complete, there is a couple important things left to do there though (in the Dragonbarrow part). There's two important items to get in a fort called Fort Faroth & of course repairing Radahn's Great Rune (which is probably the best mid to late game Rune). Which you do by climbing the Caelid Divine tower. Radahn is definitely one of my favourite fights in the game, it's so epic & fun, but you definitely made the fight more difficult by using Torrent constantly & not summoning. The fight is kind of meant to be fought on foot with all the summons (if summon signs are within the boss arena they do not buff the boss' health). That gravity attack you got frustrated with is dodgeable, just not when you're on Torrent, in fact multiple of Radahn's attacks are easier to dodge on foot, Torrent should be mostly used to close the distance on Radahn & to dodge his meteorite attack & arrow rain. Also Torrent does indeed have a dodge, he does a quick dash in the direction you're going if you press the dodge button, it can be used to dodge Radahn's gravity arrows if you time the dodge just before the arrow hits. You could've also summoned the npcs while on Torrent.

Hey merg you may like it : if you searching a very cool weapon in my opinion, there is an hiden sword in the Caria Manor, North-West of Liurnia (close to Ranni's tower). You just have to go up on the stone bridges in the castle, where you'll find under on of these bridges an roof with an hole where you can jump in, here you are a chest with this cool weapon!

I appreciate your rule on the no summon challenge but with things like the Radahn Festival and certain instances in the DLC i do think it adds more to the experience to summon, if the game basically asks you to summon someone, It’ll probably be worth your time for your playthrough than just tackling solo even if you only summon them once

Death's Poker is actually very strong. Its Ash has two versions, one does an explosion, the other leaves a pool of "fire" on the ground that does damage and also inflicts Frost. So when a boss gives you enough of an opening, you can get it off and while they're standing it, they'll constantly take damage and get inflicted with Frost. When they have the Frost debuff they take extra damage too. You fought Radahn! Yessss. One of my favourite fights in the game because you can just summon a ton of npcs against him. One of the few times you fight alongside Blaidd and Alexander! I've only solo'd him once. I think it's way cooler and more fun with Alexander and the rest. Also, amazed that you dodged his meteor strike the first time experiencing it. Most people just stand around dumbfounded when he launches himself up into the sky, then die when he comes back down lol. Something you don't notice during his animations is that sometimes he pushes his horse under the ground to protect it. Also you can hit the horse and it damages him lol. I personally don't really like how he treated his horse even before his mind was rotten/he went insane, but people will say it's love. Radahn's armor is one of the best ones in the game, I think. I usually don't wear the chest and head pieces, but the gauntlets and boots can look good with other sets. Great Jar's Arsenal is fantastic if you want to wear the heaviest armors but remain at medium weight when you have decent endurance.

Merg random fact, player summons (orange ones) also increase the boss health, so when you summoned blaid and alexander radahn had more health. And also i wish you summoned patches, he joins in the fight and leaves immediately after seeing radahn. I started laughing really hard when i saw the message "patches returned to his world" seconds after summoning him and then got killed by meteor radahn since i was too busy with patches 💀

Well done on beating Radahn! You got through him surprisingly quick. A few tips™: Im not sure if you know but you can do heavy attacks on horseback. There are two major places you can go to next. The starfall crater and the north of liurnia are both good options. A fun challenge for you could be the caelid divine tower, it is fairly difficult, but a lot of people go there early. It is also the only tower that also goes down, and you can find a cool weapon there too.
