How much does a year of maintenance cost for a 2006 Meridian 341? I review all the items and costs of every single part repaired, replaced and refurbished since we purchased “Happy Ours” in August 2019.

Good for you! The only thing we keep track of is putting the boat on the hard. Launching it. marine fees. paying for the gas we use. The rest of the stuff I try not to think about

Thank you for your videos. Recently retired, looking for a 341, it looks like a great boat to single hand. Have you ever checked your fuel economy just puttering along at 1500 RPM or so?

The 341 gasser is very economical at looper speeds. I often ran at about 2000 rpm and got 7 gph at 8mph or so. You would do even better at 1500. I think about 5mph at 4gph

Hey Tommy, I just bought the same model 06 341. I know you had talked about props in a couple videos. I've heard alot of people talk about lessoning the pitch of the props so the motors can get up to 4800-5000rpm at wide open throttle. What are your thoughts on lessening the pitch? I'm debating whether or not to do it before next season. I'm getting similar wide open throttle RPM as you.

Hi Jeffrey, the merc 6.2’s wot should be in 4800 range. What does your boat run at wot? Rpm, speed? It will vary depending on weight and load. The 341 came with 22x22props. Mine were changed by the prior owner to 21” pitch. I still don’t get near 4800rpm with my fat boat. My main concern is straining the engine with over pitched props, but I rarely push it very hard. I get about 25mph at 4400rpm. If I ever get the props redone, I may go down to 20” pitch which is what is typically recommended. I have also heard the prop tunnel “hook” modification really helps. They are simply fiberglass built up like a hook or trim tab and the end of the prop tunnels that lift the stern out of the water more. I’ve heard that works miracles for speed, rpm and fuel economy, but I can find little info on the specs for them.

@@AdventuresofHappyOursI agree straining my engine is my biggest concern. My props are 22x21, I've only been on it once since it was the end of the season but with 1/4 tank and pretty much nothing on board it ran at 4600 and 28ish mph. Its weird that my larger props are getting more RPM. Its got to be the difference in weight, I think ours will be a fatty too with all our stuff and two kids

I just re-read that.... Sounds like we have the same props actually

Looks like we have the identical boats. You are getting 300+. Rpm and 3mph better than Happy Ours. Could be weight as I’m loaded or different bottom conditions, but your numbers look pretty good. See how it runs next season when loaded up. Then you can decide to repitch or not. I’m sure you can get away with at least one inch less pitch, but it’s not something I wouldnt worry about until your props need refurbish. I may go to 19” pitch at some point from all the positive comments in the Meridian yacht owners forum. Where are you located?

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I spent 6+ yrs on the merrimack river in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The wife and I figured we'd try out a lake for a little bit (the kids are young and the lake is definitely less treacherous than that river can be). We've got a slip on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Going to be completely different but the freshwater will be a nice change. Was that a Silverton 312 I saw in one of your videos? That was our previous boat. Hudson river must be nice. I'm originally from Rye, NY. That area is really nice
