its called the ying and yang, Its the circle cut in half with shapes like tear drops and is most common referred for symbolising equality.

the mermaid took a course of several days to complete so it's completely normal if it takes you days to finish :) what kind of clay are you using? I use premo! brand polymer clay which is pretty strong after baking

How do you make to not have fingerprints on your clay ? I love your work !

She probably rubs away at the fingerprints using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. That's also a great way to get rid of dust particles that can stick to your clay.
