I feel like I could like these dolls if they had a "knee" joint in their tail. I get that the whole point is that their tails are their stand (even though that function doesn't even work properly most of the time), but, honestly, the tail feels so awkward because it doesn't move. It's totally possible to make a doll with a tight knee joint that won't fall over. Obitsu has been doing it for years. (Plus, it says a lot that people are buying them just to rebody them because they're not digging the bodies.) Also, I still can't figure out who the demographic for these is. Is it kids or collectors?!?! They're a water toy, but 90% of the doll shouldn't go into water! They confuse me so much because kids are going to want these, and they're going to want to play with them, and then they're going to be upset because they're not made to actually be played with in water even though they're mermaid dolls who have a water play function and so they're going to get destroyed. @-@ Make it make sense, toy companies. Make it make sense.

Jordie actually color changes into warm and cold water! Her tail changes to white in warm water and her fins will show these pink stripes in cold water. Really cool feature

These dolls look super fabulous! I'm also super confused about the colour change thing, why add that feature if around 80-90% of the doll isn't exactly good to put in the water? I guess you could take off things like jackets, earrings etc if your dunking them in the bathtub but then the hairs ruined and while most kids won't care or would just put the hair up, others would be upset as the pretty hair on such pretty dolls are ruined or something. Not to mention having to do the STRUGGLE of putting the stuff back on again! It's Hella confusing and can be frustrating

I love their faces! I really wish the tails detached and legs could be added. That being said I ownShellnelle and have placed her on a stand.

Rebodying these dolls is exactly what I am doing ,Great heads .but I want articulation ..I use made to move bodies for most of my transplants.. they have a great collection of skin tones..

My issue with these dolls is that they copy real world fashion. I feel like she could have just as easily be a normal human. A mermaid is such a good opportunity to make fantasy styled outfits, specifically ocean/sea creature inspired outfits, so I was disappointed to see them dressed just like people, Granted, I’m a huge ocean nerd and I’m not a huge fan of current trends anyway, so I may just be picky. I’ve seen some folks review them that love them and I’m really glad that they’re happy with them.
@Drewski2172 жыл бұрын
I wish I liked them more because I feel they're almost there but ehhhh - no real changable tail fashions, no 'knee' joint, no ability to sit up properly *and* the main gimmick only working on the front isn't really worth $32 a pop for these. I do like the faces and upper torso however I feel whelmed by them overall. sidebar, any chance of getting Mermaid High reviews? They're slightly less articulated in the wrist area but they have fabric clothes, long product free hair and are equally individual in styling statements/characters.

I am not sold on these dolls. The lack of a knee joint in the tail and the dolls' inability to sit feels cheap. And what kind of doll line releases a collector doll with a molded on top?! Other than that, I feel like these dolls have kind of an identity crisis, as they are marketed as water play dolls with the color change feature, but submerging them in water will ruin the clothes and the hair. If I got one of these as a kid, I wouldn't even play with the color change feature because I would be afraid of ruining the clothes and hair.

It’s weird to me that the bow of hair isn’t rooted but I guess maybe it’s a good thing that it’s removable 🤷🏻♀️
@TheCrazysingingurl2 жыл бұрын
It'd be so cute if they had shell themed combs or brushes, as they seem to be hair play heavy. In terms of playability, another tail joint in the middle of the tail and the ability to sit would be really fun. I also feel the opening in the box should be covered or removed because it can damage the doll. Apart from that, the dolls are really pretty. They're all very diverse and have beautiful clothing in different colors.

Jordie is the one I want the most. I agree, a bendable tail would make so much difference, and the color change thing is gimmicky. I'm trying to imagine rebodying them onto MH dolls - which dolls would match the skin tones? Seems like EAH or Barbie MTM would work better.

Haters gonna hate but Mermaze Lovers are gonna stan!! I love them honestly. I did Harmonique and Kishiko doll reviee on my channel and I am interestingly surprised and amazed by these dolls. ❤️❤️

Mermaze has some issues but they're so nice to look at. I considered rebodying my doll if I didn't like her, but she's so pretty in person from head to toe. I just took out her bow and fixed up her hair and I'm happy with her.

I wasn't a fan of these dolls at all really, but my dad had bought me one because as a kid I was obsessed with mermaids, and even though I'm still not a fan, I managed to rebody the ones I did get on to Project Mc2 doll bodies which I prefer 100000x more

@pioramos98522 жыл бұрын
don't get me wrong. These dolls are actually really pretty and and I personally don't care if they don't have joint articulation but these dolls for $32? Yea no. They're way overpriced and should be $24.99 I've seen these at my Walmart and I'm waiting till they go on sale cause I'm not paying 32 for these
@jeanieschmidt37812 жыл бұрын
Jordie is way cooler, but I'd rebody her. All that hair is not a good idea with water play and, well, no mermaids live in Barbieville!
@barbiestylebook99262 жыл бұрын
They are too detailed to be a kid's toys and kinda pricey for a plastic tail.

%100 agree, I feel as if MGA is forgetting that they are for CHILDREN entertainment not us older collectors. And like how they made the headmistress for pacific coast high for rainbow high Paris Hilton??

4:05 Okay that is WAY longer than 8 inches of hair! The doll is 12+ inches with the tail extended down…and the hair goes the full length of the doll. 📏
