Are crank puller tools universal? I know there are some different ones...but are there ones that fit "most"? Good video, answered some questions I had, appreciate it.

We sell replacements. Also do not run the washer behind the crank bolt if you run the plugs.
What affect does running a small crank have to a larger Cranks?
@MERRITTBMX6 жыл бұрын
small cranks make spinning a little easier and give you more peg clearance on your feet.
@GioBMX5 жыл бұрын
like they said mostly peg clearance but i like really short cranks because its almost like you use less leg power to push on the cranks.

take out your crank bolt. Thread in the crank tool with no washers and then hit the crank tool with a mallet or hammer to remove the arm.

bmx street no hes not but clearly you are. never use metal on metal. hammer on bikes is a no no. rubber mallet or a piece of wood between the bike part and the hammer. second the vice grips. completely valid point. buy an adjustable wrench.
@AMM19986 жыл бұрын
those are channel locks, not vise grips. Sorry to be a dick lol. But yeah everything about this made me cringe. That crank tool looked mangled after installing one set of cranks. You can tell this dude is a rider and not a mechanic. A claw hammer should be nowhere near a bike shop unless you're building ramps
@GioBMX5 жыл бұрын
@@bmxriderforlife1234 and the final mix up, don't use adjustable because as your torquing down they move slightly and make your nut or bolt more susceptible to rounding out, just but the correct (non sae) wrench

My name is SHANE MERRITT today I found your web site and was blown away by how awesome it was to see my name on bike parts.So after watching several videos of team riders I quickly went to the home page to see some killer parts .Ultimately I got on your page and well I was embarrassed by the unprofessional workthat was being performed.I was saddened so I quickly I realized how badly Merritt Bmx needs my help. I have been building and riding since before mongoose started .So if you need help contact me.

i bet back in your day getting 2 tires off the ground without a ramp was unheard of
@kingvegeta78666 жыл бұрын
That’s unnecessary for cranks. They need a special tool just to put them on smh just get some odyssey thunderbolt cranks or traditional 3 piece cranks. FYI spline drive sucks.
@AMM19986 жыл бұрын
The tool is included lol.Go buy thunderbolts if you want then lol
@GioBMX5 жыл бұрын
its 1000% necessary because they are the company that made them and they know whats the best way to make their product last the longest without issues, and they are trying to keep young riders from possibly hurting them selves, their frames, and cranks from being hit with a hammer. But go enjoy your 180MM cranks and replace that little 6 piece ring every month.
