Can I send you one of my units to restore? Lol JK Holy crap dude that thing looks mint. I was really impressed with the Gibson but from what this unit looked like and now. It’s night and day. I’m not joking you did a really amazing job on it. Great job! You could try using a thicker oil for the motor. I would also take the end of a screw driver and tap on the shaft of the motor from different directions the bearings might need to be aligned.

Sounds like the motor has very high hours on it and may need a complete rebuild with new bearings and itll run smoother and quieter

The sleeve bearings in this motor appear to be permanently mounted in the ends of the motor. I would honestly just change it out for a psc motor since it would draw less amps and be more efficient

Take the end caps off the motor and soak them in a very thin oil. The sleeves should be porous and wick oil in when soaking. The squeaking is most likely due to the sleeves being dry. As for the higher amp draw on the fan motor, the line voltage was 110 Volts back in the 50s and is higher at 125 Volts so the motor is probably getting more juice causing a higher amp draw.

Not gona lie it’ was a PITA to get that motor lined to where it wouldn’t hit lol. But I will have to try to throw some thinner oil down it and see
