Nvidia just needs to increase the price goddamnit. Scalpers are not the ones doing anything wrong, its Nvidia for charging under market value. That WILL lead to shadow markets, in a perfect market itll roughly be priced what wouldve been the market value PLUS the difference between market value and what they charge for it. (i.e. if the market value if they charged it at that would be 750$ and they sell them for 500$, youll get them for 1000$.) The problem isnt bots or scalpers, its a company engaging in practices that lead to this deadweight loss.

In Finnish (yeah, small market) JIMMS -store supply lasted well over an hour for partner cards. Somehow they had gotten fat stacks of cards. Hundreds of them. I put a Zotac GeForce RTX 3060 Ti OC in the cart, went to check Linus and Jayz reviews to make sure 3060 Ti is a worthwhile purchase, considered the purchase for a while and then proceeded to buy the card. Because of taxes it costs 500 € here, but I am not complaining. My current workhorse GTX 970 was around the same price back in 2015. And no, I am not going to scalp with it. It is a Christmas present for myself :)

The issue isn't that the cards are not launching with the normal amount of stock. The issue is that there are at least 3x the amount of people who want these cards to upgrade then the 2000 series. It wouldn't make sense for nvidea to not want to make as many of these as humanly possible

I really like the disclaimer that Linus gave in this video. It's true it's not their fault pricing and availability are abysmal, but many reviewers just opt to pretend there is no problem at-all which makes them look complicit. The performance for this beast is almost just as good as the 3070, and for $100 less, I am definitely gonna get this over the 3070. Taking $100 off the pc budget for this is tough but this makes it finally possible!!! Can’t believe the supply issue with this tho, I hope they are making a truckload of these and holding them until maybe next or the week after next week to release them before Christmas. Otherwise, I’m stuck with the ol reliable potato laptop for now.

I Know this will get buried, but just a request / suggestion. When reviewing budget cards like this, can you give us a comparison to cards of similar pricepoint from a few generations ago ? As an example, I'm running a 1070 and havent really been fully convinced to upgrade to anything as I can still game fine. But If i saw numbers of the 3060ti compared to a few older generation cards in the same price range (970,1060,1060,1070, 2060) I'd be able to see just howmuch more I can get for the same budget today. Obviously keep the graphs showing how it performs to other current cards, but I think an added graph of year over year value comparison of cards would be interesting and useful to those looking to upgrade

It's the launch day coverage, so I guess they just cover them with the current & last gen stuff (comparable in price & also perf). Another thing to note is the use of the 5950X which I doubt any budget-mid range gamer would use, which implies that the fps might easily drop down another tier.

It was a big jump over my 750Ti, but I wish I had waited one more generation for a 2060 at least.
