I like this AJ(the original) better than his replacement. He and Jason actually favored each other alot. And Alan's speech to Jason was PRICELESS, EPIC, BEAUTIFUL. This was the best script in soap opera history.

He was not the original. He was the second adult to play AJ

The tears in Jason's eyes made a point so well. Jason wasn't unfeeling, as so many people believed, he just couldn't respond to the emotions of others.

I really wish Alan and Jason had repaired their relationship before he died. The same way Jason grew to appreciate, love and recognize Monica as his mother and even Edward as family

back when AJ was allowed to fight back instead of being constantly vilified often times by those way worse then he ever was.

they look so much like real brothers. I think i read some where that they were related by marriage. I miss Alan. I wish he and Jason had more of a relationship in the end. Thanks for sharing this clip.

I like Sean Aj! He was always better than Billy as Aj! Sean could take Jason on, plus Sean and Sarah's Carly looked better together. I wish they would have tried to keep both Sean and Sarah as they characters, plus put Carly and Aj together. Carly and Aj had a good friendship that could have grown into a great relationship, but as Sean and Sarah.

Always one of my favorite scenes between these 2.

AJ is just silly. He is trying to use reason to convince Jason, who doesn’t even remember Keisha that he should love her. You can’t force someone to love a person, much less someone they don’t even remember.

Ok And what's wrong with that . Jason was so wrong how he treated kiesh

Yeah, Aj wanted the old Jason back, but Jason didn't have to be so cruel to Kiesha she was literally crying about losing her grandma and he basically was like "that's not my problem" but was completely understand with Robin with her grief over Stone. Keisha did want the old Jason back but she was pushing like his family was, but he was just as cruel to her as he was to his family.

How powerful Stewart's acting was that Steve could feel it.
wow what a speech by alan to jason. even thou jason wasnt supposed to fill emotion at this time ,theyre was tears in his eyes that being in character wouldnt show . like the way jason never took his eyes off alan the whole time alan talked to him. this was the beginning of him being -stone cold- with a huge additute problem. he was a real pr**k to everyone because of the accident

Yes, it was a beautiful speech, and it could not have been better crafted to break Jason’s heart and crush his spirit. In one beautiful speech, Alan told Jason how important the old Jason was to him and how he had seen himself in Jason’s eyes, how Jason had validated Alan’s existence. Then he goes on to say he no longer saw himself in Jason’s eyes and what he now saw was his failures. And with this speech Alan convinced Jason that he was not and never could be Jason Quartermaine. The expectations were just too high. The tears in Jason’s eyes told the story. It was right here that Jason gave up hope of ever being enough for them. Who in their right mind would say that to a young man with no memory, a young man struggling with his own identity? A young man who can already see that he is a disappointment to everyone around him because he does not know how to be their perfect Jason. Who would heap his own crushing disappointment onto his own wounded and vulnerable son. It was cruel and thoughtless. How lonely and defeated Jason must have felt at that moment. No wonder he developed such a cynical and prickly shell. He needed it to keep from being completely crushed by Alan’s heartbreak. Robin’s and Sonny’s acceptance of him for who he was must have been like a soothing balm to his spirit. Without Sonny and Robin, Jason would probably have run, gone to jail, committed suicide, or been committed. Yeah it was a beautiful speech.

@@beegee1960 Alan didn't mean to hurt Jason he just couldn't get pass his on expectation to truly give Jason what he needed it was the same thing with AJ Alan would constantly tell AJ is was screw up and could never be as good as Jason was. Not knowing that his words really affects them in negative ways. He got that from Edward till the day they died they wanted Jason to come home, but it was always all or nothing with them.

It hurts both ways, people only look at Jason or Alan point of view, when both are hurting in different ways neither wrong, just don't understand each other. It's great story telling.💔
