The Solo is a solo boost. As in, if you are playing a rhythm and you go into a solo, and you have the solo volume dialed in higher , you can hit the solo button and the volume will boost up to hear the solo better. Then back down after the solo is over. Very nice amp, Congrats!

I've owned a few Mesa's over the years and this is probably the most attractive since the Mk IV in the 80's. I was in the market for the V25 until this amp. I think I prefer this amp over the Mk V:25 for the footswitch alone. I would prefer Solo 2 was replaced with an FX loop on/off and the foot switch fit in the back like the like the Mk IV's. But other than that this amp is a Metal MONSTER. It will rip your face off! Or lul you to sleep.

Hey there. Not sure if you will read this. I have this amp and when I hit the solo boost channel 2 on gain there is a significant drop out for about a half second. So my signal is completely gone, so it creates a hiccup type sound. Where my volume drops to muted, then comes back on louder on solo. It's very noticeable and doesn't do that on my other message rectoverb with boost. Does yours do this?

I would have try and replicate it on mine. I will be messing with more Carlos Santana soon and that's when the Mark V comes out.

I was looking at some things. When the volume comes back does the speaker sound flubby? The manual that came with the Mark V 35 states that using a ton of gain with a ton of bass doesn't have enough power. I am wondering if what you are seeing is related. I knew this at the time I bought my Mark V 35 and it makes sense from an electrical perspective. Try turning down the bass and see if the drop out occurs. Sorry for the delay in answering.

No worries! It doesn't matter the eq on or off. Bass on 0. It just cuts when I select the overdrive channel boost switch. Cuts for a sec then back on
