If anyone get bug when press instance sharp edges : You should go back to object mode frist and then press instace sharp edges in object mode. not in edit mode. Anyway, thanks for this awesome addon dude!

This addon is amazing, but I’m having some major issues with it. Whenever I use it for a large hair object, my file corrupts and crashes on opening it. Any idea why this happens?

Looks super neat, but the render times gets very high, expecially cycles, also would be nice to be able to have more control on the color of the hair.

Works in 3.5 but strands go everywhere when hitting instance sharp edges button. Lost now. Update....made plane and worked as his did. Cant make it color yet. on reg hair... dosen"t work same as before. getting all edges changed into hair and explodes. would like to show pic but cant find add attachment. Guess I need to find a new way till this gets updated and good tutorial for Blender 4.1

Hello! Your addon is excellent and life-changing. But, I've used it in Blender 3.6 twice, in Cycles. And after my rendering, the file crashes and I can't open it at all. Even when I change files and use "Append". Even after using the recovery methods. I don't know what to do. T^T And I learned that it didn't work on the new versions. It's so sad, it's really good. :'c

I can't render this hair. Looks nice, but my CPU load is 100% and no rendering. And yes. 3060 ws selected for rendering in options. For some reason everuthing is fine in render view.

Hi! Thanks for the add on. I have a problem with Edge to hair. I created one curl with curve and converted it to in mesh. I got mark harp and taped Instance sharp edges. All looks good. But when i tap Edges to hair I got no curly hair and just one straight line. I see that I got hair from the all the point along the my curl mesh. How could I fix it? Thank you

1 make a mesh 2 select edges that you wanna mark as sharp and press, Mark sharp 3 in object mode, press the Instance sharp edges and adjust the hair in modifiers> geometry nodes 4 press edges to hair and it will generate the curves object that you can color now Note: if it looks blocky, go to render properties>curves and increase additional subdivision to 3, this should smooth the shape out

Thanks for the plugin, I feel like I have made further progress than with anything else. However, I have run into some problems getting the hair to go in the same direction on a plane. Some are mixed direction and resetting the mark sharp doesn't always work. So the checkbox to flip curves doesn't work on the individual sharp lines. What can you suggest to flip the mismatched hairs on same mesh? I also noticed that if you try to instance sharp edges in edit mode, it will cause an error that the mesh will disappear when you switch to object mode. This might be why some are having that problem.

I was getting errors as well. I managed to not have them by switching to object mode before clicking the instance sharp edges. But after that, it still doesn't work. The delete geometry node deletes everything, including the edges that it's supposed to keep. I don't have much experience with geo nodes, but I think that the "sharp_edge" selector was only introduced in v3.5. so removing all edges except your hair edges manually, then plugging the geo input into the meshes to curve node (skipping the delete geo node makes it work as well) though I tested the addon in version 3.5.0a, and it works fine.
