@@FATE522 Speaking of filling in gaps, when tf did I say that Kathleen said it was made for money? The Disney trilogy being an obvious cashgrab wasn't even part of my point here, but I'm glad you acknowledge that truth. My point was that "it's not for you" is something moviegoers have had to hear for the past 5 years or so from terrible movies. That apparently went entirely over your head. Anyways, since I feel like responding to your tangent: There are no gaps to fill in my take about Disney Star Wars. Well, except for the trilogy’s massive plot holes, but that’s besides the point. I don’t care what Lucas said. He made a far better story for the exact reason you stated - he served the story. Even when Lucas made something bad, there was still the same heart to it from before. It may have hurt some at first, but it wasn’t an insult to the audience, and it was a story he genuinely wanted to tell. The Disney trilogy, however, made it a ping-pong ball game between directors with opposite visions. One director wanted nostalgia-fanbait with tons of mystery boxes with either shite in them or absolutely nothing. The other director wanted to fulfill his desire to “subvert expectations” and make something totally divisive and rip apart the original work and the fans. Both of them were terrible directors and had terrible writers. And all that Kathleen and Disney wanted was money. I am glad that you recognize all of Disney Star Wars contradictions and controversial storytelling that fractured the Star Wars fandom even further than the worst of it was years ago before. Theoretically, a story can be 100%, and everyone should still hold high standards if they want their media to be of anything resembling good quality.

@@JarJarAbrams Its George's fault for selling Star Wars to Disney, he should have known they would screw it up with their need to monopolize and plagiarize everything. He should have sold Star Wars to Universal instead.

Yes, we understand she isn't specifically talking about star wars. But this is her general dismissive attitude towards consumers which is very present in disneys star wars as well.

"We didn't make it for them" But someone will. All political waves are bound to die at the lowest tide. Non fans will simply jump to another franchise boat at this point and only the fans will remain. But only good stories will keep them pedaling. That's why l hope we have some sort of Rippaverse on movies.

It's not even about profit, other wise KK and her clique would have been fired during the production of TFA when it was obvious that this woman had no business in making films, let a lone Star Wars. Yet bomb after bomb and a furious fandom, she's still CEO of Lucasfilm. Her job is to make propaganda to shape the audience for the New World Order.

So it's "controversial" now, ah. That's why I don't like the sequels and surley not because it's a plot mess. And with "we" she means Rian johnson. The rest wasn't even controversial, but just shit. Edit: And man tried I hard, but episode 9 gave me the finishing move.

When you try to make something good, and most think it’s not good, sooo does that mean it’s good?

Maybe an unpopular answer but...I respect you being honest than pretending you were trying to make it for as wide an audience as possible because we know that wasn't true.

That's why I want nothing to do with Disney Star Wars. Because of this arrogant virtue signaling witch and her lackeys. Not the sequels, nor Mandolorian or the Obi Wan series.

I really like how things like this are posted without a year or a date you just posted this and then everyone freaks out. When was it made where did you get this? I’d like to see the original video you could’ve actually linked to it.

No one is freaking out. People are just bitter. I'm also curious where this comes from, but it's not irrelevant non the less. This is evidently her standpoint on the subject of pleasing fans. And it can't be that old considering she looks to be exactly the same age as she is now.

The Color Purple is a musical with a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray. Based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker and its 1985 film adaptation, the show follows the journey of Celie, an African-American woman in the American South from the early to mid-20th century. The original Broadway production ran from 2005 to 2008, earning eleven Tony Award nominations in 2006. An enthusiastically acclaimed Broadway revival opened in late 2015 and ran through early 2017, winning two 2016 Tony Awards-including Best Revival of a Musical. A film adaptation of the musical is currently in the works for a December 20, 2023 release.

This seems to be an excerpt from a Rolling Stones interview she did back in 2000 around the time Rise of Skywalker came out. The context was essentially, the interviewer asked her how she wanted to address the fans who were dissatisfied with The Last Jedi.
