Such an important message about the narrative we tell. How about this: we get to eat 3 times a day, and we also eat 2 pounds of vegetables and fruit every day. It’s an enormous amount of healthy, nutrient dense food that will prevent cancer, lower blood pressure, clear up allergies, stabilize blood sugar and - eventually - list the mood. Wow.

I'm into this bright line eating just three days and I hope I can remember the clean feeling in my stomach and intestines i have. I think this person's message has more to do with fear... Afraid of what your life will look like to be successful and after 45 years of feeling awful about my body (I'm 58) I'm ready for a new feeling. Counting my blessings has been a huge part of my life since I was 35. It seems to take care of fear. I feel like concentrating on this is the key. Write three blessings every morning and look for miracles every night. I love my life even being 202# right now. I have confidence in my ability to start a new life. She can as well.

Almost all new things feel uncomfortable at first, until they don't. That means new habits, will feel uncomfortable at first. It's very normal to want to go back (even run back) to your old comfortable ways, but if you continue the BLE path you will make peace with food and 'get to' & 'stay at' your naturally slender size. A size that you will admire and will come with ease. BLE is like practicing a new instrument you can't wait to master, love & enjoy. Great vlog Susan.

I just love this one so much!!! These observations just resonate with me! Our own attitudes can define our experiences, and telling our stories, framing them as we choose to is a privilege not to be wasted. The guidelines of BLE give me a peace and control about food that I have never known before. I use them as a tool, a key to unlock better health and freedom to enjoy my life in a whole new way. "Rigid" or "confining" do not describe the incredible blessings that are mine as long as I embrace the safety and freedom that I enjoy now! Thank you, Susan Pierce Thompson!

Great video! Thank you! Second half was the best...loved how you talked about going to the birthday parties and not eating cake...even if it is for your birthday. Not worrying about hurting someone's feelings, etc. just say no to the cake and not worry about it. Perception is huge...the narrative...tell stories that serve you...good stuff!

I know this video is a couple of years old, but it's just what I needed to hear today. I'm coming up on my finishing my first year of BLE, and the beginning half of the year was amazing. I lost 40lbs and things were great. Then summer hit, lots of travelling, and now the holidays are upon me and I've been struggling sooo much, and have been very hit and miss with my bright lines. I'm re-reading the book, and I decided to also joing the boot camp. I know that I'm still in the middle of my journey, and now I don't think there will ever be an actual "finish line" -- but that this is a way of being that I must step into. I've definitely been living with the "sacrifice" mentality, kicking against the pricks that I must live without sugar and flour (I'm a 9 on the scale btw). But now I'm starting to relax into that space, instead of bemoaning my fate. Letting go of my anger, at myself, and at food, and at my situation. That is one part that is the hardest to make I think. So thank you, always, for these vlogs and always sharing with us. Lots of love to you for all you've done for me personally, even though I may never meet you. Thank you thank you thank you.

It's so fascinating that orthorexia in many cases increases the risk of binge-eating, while some in BLE-type approaches to recovery find orthorexic thinking/rules help them reduce the risk of binge-eating...and it may come down to that narrative going on in their mind, whether or not guidelines/rules make them feel restricted/constrained/deprived OR comfortable/safe/free...

Yes, one's narrative is important. Anyone trying to sabotage you may be a narcissistic personality disorder because if it was a friend, he or she would support you to succeed.

Hi, Liz. Susan created the BLE company, the support structure, the Boot Camp, etc. She learned the food plan when she was in her 20s. As she discovered what she needed for support, and assisted other people in their journeys she realized the need for more and created Bright Line Eating. 😄
