For the top view, I only made a video that I thought looked like a scale model. Sadly I had only my video equipment with me up in the tower. I left all my photo stuff down below since I never considered taking pictures of this plane. But as the day went on, it became more itchy in my finger to trigger the camera 🤣

We have one at Biggin hill in England that flew in the battle of Britain. It then served in Russia where it was brought down but they recovered it and restored it to flying conditions.

Opening overhead shot I swore this Me-109 was a toy model on display a truly immaculate restoration! Must compliment the pilot here Charlie Brown on sticking the landing as well 😘 (for in this aircraft it is notorious difficult to do..). Understand why it would be preferable to land on grass (for less bounce..) and more native terrain for this bird 😉. Simply amazing to think this aircraft (parts of it..) saw combat 85+ years ago 😳..

Die Emil ist für mich die schönste aller BF-109 Varianten. Allerdings warte ich noch auf eine fliegende Friedrich. Dann muss ich noch mal genauer hinschauen. 😉 Dieser Emil wünsche ich jedenfalls lange Jahre unfallfreie Flüge und das in Deutschland, denn da gehört sie hin.

I believe that the military aviation museum in virginia beach Virginia has a Bf109 F4 that is flown frequently. For me, my favorite is the Br109 G10-U4.

Eines der schönsten Flugzeuge des zweiten Weltkrieges. Der Sound des Daimler Benz 601 ist unverkennbar. Eine Augenweide. Leider konnte ich bisher noch nie so ein Flugzeug live bestaunen. Ich bekomme nie etwas davon mit. Wäre schön, im süddeutschen Raum mal so etwas zu sehen.

Also in Süddeutschen Raum war die Me 109 eigentlich immer soweit man zumindest Interesse an Flugveranstaltungen hatte auf der Hahnweide (Kirchheim unter Teck )zusehen dem .Meistens aber die G-10 von der Messerschmitt Stiftung .Findet nächstes Jahr wieder statt nach langer Pause evtl falls das die Organisatoren hinbekommen mit Me 109 etc .

Bin jedes Jahr auf die Hahnweide aber die letzten Jahre hat die Messerschmitt Stiftung mit ihren Maschinen ja nur noch einen Überflug gemacht. Dass die Landung mir einer Me 109 dort nicht einfach ist hat man ja schon gesehen. Trotzdem wäre toll wenn es wieder stattfinden würde.

Wonderful restoration, there are very few 190 E's in flying condition - I know of only three. The DB601 alone is extremly expensive. The engine was running very rough after engine start, one cylinder atlaest seemed to not fire properly at low RPM. Hopefully this Emil will have a looong 'service' life ahead ! Many thanks also for the fine Camera shots, especially the underbelly - where most often very complicated things are located....on most aircraft of the time - nowadays every spot of a Fighter is a very complicated place....

Not putting the correct markings on, is a sign of weakness, not respect. But that is also a choice that someone made most likely to please investors in thé restoration. Par mi el Me o Bf 109, es el más bello caza de la II GM, con la competencia de los italianos Macchi Castoldi de motor lineal. Es una pena que de los mas de 30.000 ejemplares producidos en las dufrenites versiones, auténticos queden muy pocos, en España durante la guerra civil hubo ejemplares de las versiones B,C, D y al final llegaron los E que prácticamente no intervinieron en los combates, aquí les llamaron "tripalas", pero no queda ni uno queda ninguno aunque no me extrañaría que en alguna olvidada chatarrería apreciaran resto. Tambien hubo una quincena de F (aquí llamados "zacutos") y se construyen bajo licencia muchos G que la final se motorizaron con motores RR Merlin con lo cual se estropeó su elegante línea. De estos si quedan bastantes, algunos en condiciones de vuelo, y con algunas chapuzas que le hicieron para asemejarlos a los E intervinieron en la película la Batalla de Inglaterra, curiosamente pilotados por profesiones españoles.

+@joseantoniomartinexpons En la década de 1980, se encontró un Bf-109E original de la Legión Condor en un desguace en España y se recuperó. La restauración de este Bf-109 para que pueda volar está casi terminada y creo que es para un cliente del Reino Unido. El trabajo es notable.

En los años 50 la situación es España era la que era y no había oportunidad en desarrollar una concia museística, avion retirado del servicio eran muchos kilogramos de materiales preciosos, sobre todo aluminio. No obstante, en la vuelta de una visita que hice a Varsovia me encontraba haciendo escala en Frankfurt y me llamó la atención ver en una terraza del aeropuerto, lejos de la sala de espera en que me encontraba un "Pedro" ( He-111) un "Junker" ( Ju-52) y creo que un Bf-109. Justo pasaban por allí dos pilotos civiles españoles y les pregunté como podía acercarme a verlos de cerca, las indicaciones que me dieron eran bastante complicadas y yo no hablo alemán y mi inglés es bastante macarrónico, entonces era un poco mejor, además yo era el líder de una expedición española a un congreso, así que no quise arriesgarme a perderme. En el museo de aeronáutica actual de Madrid hay auténticos por lo menos un He-111 y uno o dos Ju-52 construidos en España por CASA y un He-111 E original pero bien conservado además, dos Me-109 G construidos por hispano, uno con Merlin y otro con motor hispano- Suiza, ninguno en estado de vuelo, también hay un Polikarpov I-15 "Chato" o "Curtis" y un I-16 "Rata" o "Mosca" pero se trata de maquetas a escala 1: 1, un Fiat CR-32 reconstruido y decorado como el que utilizó el "As" García Morato., con el que se estrelló y mató en una exhibición a los pocos días acabada la guerra y la fundación FIO, tiene en vuelo un I-16 creo que reconstruido en Nueva Zelanda de una versión que no se utilizó en España, aunque está decorado con los colores de las FARE. Me-109G, que yo sepa , no hay ninguno en vuelo en España. Saludos
