He's obviously charismatic, he's half black, he's kinda homo, he's a boisterous "underdog", and he's a hard working content-creator that pumps out content for people to watch and develop a cult of personality over. He's an every man for Smash and people WANT to root for him. it also helps him that he's been around since Brawl he's got prerequisite knowledge and insight so his Smash related content is actually technically advanced and it's not just intuited. After watching Nairo, someone like Marss is entirely unwatchable because while he is TECHNICALLY gifted, he has none of the other qualities Nairo does have such as charisma. People simp'd for Nairo. Without Captain Zack, Nairo would be Smash's American original, the spokesperson that everyone wanted.

Charlie has done this before. For example during his time playing Rust on the crap OTV server he insulted and attacked players for "stream sniping"" and other stuff. Than the guy he directly references Ser Winter comes out with an hour long video showing that to objectively not be the case, nor was he just going around doing nothing but killing or breaking rules... What did charlie do when confronted about this? Said "I wasn't talking about him", despite there being a clip where charlie all but names and shames Ser Winter to his 10,000,000 strong audience. There's other instances of Charlie doing this as well. If you look into it. I wouldn't mind Charlie getting something wrong, he's human. Everyone makes mistakes. But I mind someone of his size being confronted by the truth, and refusing to correct the record. Leading to innocent people being harassed because of him... And there's no way anyone on youtube is dumb enough to think that "don't harass him guys" actually stops the most zealous of your fanbase from doing that. And when its someone of Charlie's size, that harassment is not a small amount. Ser Winter felt he had to make a long video show casing Charlie's, XQC's and a few other's accusations about him were wrong. What's worse is all of these streamers went to play rust, but didn't even look into the game or its community. Instead tried to build a server that was the literal opposite of how the rest of the entire community plays. They didn't even inform people about the rules. Ser Winter for example wasn't invited to the discord with all these special rules. He had to use his audience to even know what the basic rules were. So for streamers like XQC, or people like Charlie to demonize him as 'Ser Wanker" for playing the game its intended to be played, while also never even making the rules clear to him or most other rust players is absurd. And the stubborn refusal to admit you were wrong, and correct your lies about a person really diminishes my respect of Charlie. I never respected XQC, so can't say this hurts my image of him at all. You can look into the whole saga, but it really shows Charlie is too prideful to ever admit to being wrong, and correct the record. Even when a person was demonized and harassed for no reason because of his own statements.

I get that this is a serious situation about Nairo, and I'm not making any excuses for what he has done, but am I wrong for thinking we should just move on? Don't get me wrong, I really don't think Nairo should have gone onto Metafy in the first place, but taking this as a ped seeing resurgence in the community is, in my opinion, disingenuous. Let's not forget that the community is not under one banner, so Metafy likely does not speak for most people. Nairo has stated time and time again he will not attend events. While he did appear on Metafy, this is not in the presence of minors. He is banned from events even... The only issue I see about this, in my opinion, is him appearing on the advert for Metafy, which I guess is the topic of the video. I guess my main point of issue is this: Nairo should have released everything about his legal agreement so we could be the judge, but I really find it hard to believe you can say he is a malicious ped now. I don't know about y'all, but if I found out through reading a legal agreement my best friend was a ped, really did it on purpose, and had reasonable suspicion he would carry out the same acts in the future, I would distance myself from him immediately. Apparently not a single person who read his agreement felt this way? Why are they going to his house in groups if he has any semblance of that person left in him? Why would someone like Riddles feel safe associating with him? Frankly, for reasons I've stated above, I don't buy the "because they are best friends" argument, and to act like Nairo is waiting to prey on another minor is again, imo, disingenuous. I still don't think Nairo should be showing his face like that on large smash platforms--It is a really bad look. This community has proven time and time again that most of its main figureheads lack any sort of common sense and social skills, and there's a lot of reasons for this that I'm not getting into now. Needless to say though, there's a sizable portion of people in the community who simply believe pedo sh!t is ok behavior and don't care if someone does it - biggest notable example I can think of would be Dark Wizzy. They have no standards. For example finding out if it was hush money because he wanted to keep it under wraps or because he was blackmailed into doing it, both are wrong but they tell different stories. I don’t think you said the CEO of Metafy told you Nairo couldn’t have not be tipped, but as content creators bringing entertainment to viewers you both deserve compensation. Acting as though 20 year olds are too savvy to be manipulated is bordering absurdity, and you’ve mentioned that you’re connecting dots and making educated guesses on certain points surrounding Nairo’s stuff. A wiser person in one of your videos (you) addressing people defaming you once said “if I ou don’t know the whole story from both sides you probably shouldn’t jump to conclusions” (paraphrasing). Few 25 year olds feel they were adults at 20 and in gaming, a world of early on escapism early maturity is not exactly a staple trait. Nairo’s livelihood was competing and he’s lost that for his mistakes, his further livelihood as an adult should also be jeopardized based off of incomplete information? I think you’re almost certainly partially right. You’re premise fine if you’re for connecting is 100% correct, but in a world where a series of educated guesses based on facts isn’t 100% correct and 20 year olds panic and that can add suspicion, maybe in that word complete damnation is a bit overkill.

A 20 year old (or person of any age) could be assaulted by a 15 year old. Nairo claimed such it could be true, it might not be. This same 15 year old used sex in prior history to manipulate tournament outcomes which is sad on many levels. Being jaded and callous about sexual behavior at that age is unfortunate and probably indicates some sort of issue earlier in his life. Gaming allows 50 year olds and 12 year olds to theoretically be professional peers… it’s a messed up platform. It turned into a legal situation and I fully support people on legal situations listening to their counsel to the absolute word on all legal matters. Not publicly sharing a legal document is not a proof of guilt it’s proof of listening to legal counsel. In a world where children are peers with young adults parental supervision should be mandated for competitors under 18. 15 year old teenagers have violently sexually assaulted 30 year old adults. His dick was sucked by a 15 year old person, I’ll give you as a fact. “The context of the act doesn’t matter” is my actual “problem” in this situation. We don’t know all of the facts and we don’t have any legal right to the legal documents from any party involved. Metafy sounds a little shady with their use of other’s vods… but if Metafy is using Nairo’s visage for profit, I think it would be unethical to disallows anyone they’re using for profit to also profit. Being able to tip someone that you’re watching their content is not egregious, a tip is a gift, a token of appreciation. The premise that you can’t appreciate legal content is patently absurd. Having issue with Metafy endorsing a person is perfectly reasonable. Further stating that after Metafy profits off of that person, they should cut the person out of their profitability doesn’t sit right with me. A big deal is made here about being able to tip Nairo. If you publish someone else’s work they should get credit for it. Bad judgment and predatory behavior are not the same thing and 20 year olds and 15 year olds alike are sadly capable of either. 20 year olds have more responsibility than 15 year olds and more capability to control the scenarios in general, but it’s not absolute. I don’t think I have a particular problem in this situation. I’m also against people of these ages fraternizing, it just doesn’t make sense to execute someone with a lack of evidence and to assume that lawyers and judges got it wrong.

I agree on all that. Only a couple people from melee got dragged but their were either false (mew2king) or just a bad spot in their behavior (hbox). As for Zero man nobody would even want to utter his name in streams now. I remember when content creators would watch controller spikes complication videos and straight up cut sections of zero from the video. On the plus side, the community is healing really really well. Aside from online. I went to a monthly local that had smash and gg strive that went really well. Got to interact with some of the players and just a fun time overall. Hopefully that energy can spread online because I don't hate the game, I just hate the players associated.

To be honest, I see both sides of this situation. (edit; when I said "situation", I meant how this video was received. Oops.) On one hand, Tech has a point, Nairo shouldn't be involved with anything involving minors, including smash things, and it's best for him to leave the scene. On the other... when's enough enough? When can we say "Alright, he did what he did, he faced the consequences, let's leave him alone"? I think he should be allowed to move on, like ZeRo.
