G'day folks. Well it's still really dry out in the middle of the Aussie bush, but we soldier on metal detecting with the Minelab Manticore, following a fence line through trashy ground.

But im just being kind Plus the word that I want Just wont come to mind Thinking for me Is realy quite tough And im sure you will find Some more riveting stuff. The weather is that glorious now ,it doesn't what you find,it's just great to get out for a swing.The buckles,buttons, and coins will come up next time. Rivets and washers were made to infuriate detectorists. Cheers mate.

A burger with the lot, a bottle of good vino. And CBK with another great video. I love Saturday nights. By the way, N & S tractors. I think they had something to do with Case tractors. One of the reasons you find buckles is because the stitching gave way. A quick fix if you didn't lose the buckle was to repair it with a rivet or two. Rivets were more useful than thimbles. The wife and I watch each episode and have done for over a year. I don’t often chime in but thought I’d let you know we watch. I did have a manticore for a while. Found a couple of hundred dollars in my local parks in $1’s and $2’s. I did end up selling it because the wife has the car during the day and it was a bit tricky to take out on the motorcycle in a backpack. After exhausting the local parks it became a little more daunting and uneconomical to travel further afield considering sometimes the pickings were worth less than the petrol money. Not that it was just about the money. I did enjoy being out but it was a bit of a pain to organise it all and a bit dangerous with that sort of stuff on my back on a motorcycle.

Howdy Andrew, You have to learn to love rivets. I save all mine in an old White Owl cigar box. There nice little reminders of a bygone era when people had to walk or ride an animal to get around. Try saying "Hurrah a rivet, that's bloody brilliant" next time you find one and see how good you feel. I went to a Tommy Emmanuel concert last night. Somehow he doesn't sound as Aussie as you and he didn't play anything quite as pretty as the mandolin rift used to open a CBK video. He really works those guitars though. He makes 1 guitar sound like 2 guitars his fingers are so fast. It was great. You sound all better now. Hope Viv is to. Jan and I are good. Your buddy, Roelf

Pretty much Matt. Back in the day an area would be known as a dumping area. People would drive out with a load of rubbish and dump it on the side of a back country road.
