Hello and welcome! :) There are a lot of places where you can find stuff, but it's forbidden to detect on a lot of spots like the Ardennes etc. I just go to a forest or field, and start detecting and see if i can find something.. close to borders or big cities, important places is always interesting! how clean and how much restoration can be done to those helmets?? or would you keep them unrestored??

I clean them with water and a brush, after that i use oxalic acid. Ffter that i use linseed oil to preserve them :) Gr Nick

Okay, Nick...breathe...breathe...! I would camp out over that spot in a tent. Keep the ground thawed by a campfire, or if all else failed, I would sit my fat a$$ on it, to keep anybody else away! Now POST PART 2!!!! Two German helmets. TWO German helmets. I am so dying here. TWO GERMAN HELMETS! That's it. Build me an apartment onto your house! Seriously, I am so proud of you for these finds. You are so lucky--or you do an awful lot of research, or both. The gas masks were awesome, too. The fact that anything has survived that long is a miracle. So, hurry and post Part 2 before the anticipation kills me! Another helmet in the hole? Hmmmmmmmm.........!

I once was on vacation in Roggel, a camping named de Leistert, and next to that camping was a forest. I went hiking with my dad and we found something weird in the bush. It looked like it was a side of the nose of an airplane, but it was a lot smaller. We also found some weird stick of steel, what made me think of that thing on a car where the wheels are on (wielophanging), and some more small debris. I really don’t know what it must have been

Simply IMPRESSIVE ! Believe me, I felt very well your emotion and...impressive ! Definitely, there are more interesting WW2 relics in that place (a foxhole or even a trench / 2 helmets and...!)... ! You must dig very carefully because the WW2 relics from there could be very fragile...because of the soil and time... All WW2 relics are intereresting BUT...'personal objects' have always...'something special'...
