UPDATE: I have been using this hose for a couple of months now we are at the end of July with temps reaching 100°F on consecutive days. This hose DOES NOT get hot to the touch. I think this is actually my favorite hose to use currently.

That's what I was wondering. If it gets hot to the touch if left out in the sun.
@HomegrownHowTo10 ай бұрын
@@journeyoflight7412yeah it held up really well and never was hot to the touch.

1 year later... any cons?
@HomegrownHowTo7 ай бұрын
@@Jack2511no issues with the hose so far. The sprayer busted after about 5 months but it’s just cheap plastic.

It would be interesting to know how much water comes out, like timing how long it takes to fill up a 5 gallon bucket. I’m assuming the volume of water coming out is lower since the diameter of the hose is more narrow?

I like that idea. Thanks!

I would think as long as it doesn't stay left out in the Sun between uses it should be fine not to get too hot when using it the way you did. If laying on the lawn and used for a sprinkler that could be an issue unless the watering comes down on it and might cool if off.

Good points. I really like this hose a lot. Hopefully I can use it all summer long. As you stated if left in the shade it should be good. 👍

why would you expect it to get hot? dark colors absorb sunlight and heat up while light colors reflect light and stay cool wouldn't silver color metal reflect and stay cool???

Metal objects typically get very hot sitting in the sun in 100 degree F temperatures. This hose never got too hot to touch. Great product.

Si - but , metal retains heat more than plastic - like sand vs dirt .

I’m afraid it will get dented eventually, probably repeatedly in multiple places lol. My roommate has run his car over my existing hose while I was watering so I can imagine what would happen to a metal hose.

Pretty valid concern. However this thing is pretty solid, I honestly don’t think it would get damaged being ran over. Once it warms up- sounds like a solid test to try out. 🤔

What is the hoses interior lining made up of? I am in the search of a hose that has nothing synthetic or plastic. If you know its rubber that would be ideal.
@HomegrownHowTo8 ай бұрын
I’m honestly not 100% sure what the inner tube is made of. I would assume a rubber material as the hose is super flexible.

Does it put out the same volume of water as the bigger garden hose? Just wondering since it looks like a tiny hose.
@HomegrownHowTo8 ай бұрын
It is thinner for sure. But I only use it to water my flower beds and it works great. Still holding up well after about a year of use.

Is there an attachment for a sprinkler?
@HomegrownHowTo6 ай бұрын
Yeah you can screw in a hose end sprinkler but it doesn’t come with one.

You ever seen somebody workout by lifting rope ? Well , you can twist your cable or hoses like that in the proper direction with a flip or two while coiling - but , you really should untwist it all the way to the end with every flip even if you have to walk a little bit .

China doesn't honor patents. What somebody creates is available to everyone. These steel hoses are likely made by one or two factories which then become available for several businesses to make up a silly name for and sell all over the world. Can't be as abusive to these hoses like a rubber hose. Their best trait is easy to roll up. Keep it sheltered and don't kick it around, and it just might last awhile. But it will need to be replaced sooner than a rubber hose.

I bought one it kinked so bad, that it broke.

You have to force it pretty hard to get that result. Mines over a year with use almost daily use and works good as new.
