I recognize the amount of effort it took to do all this and thoroughly respect it. Had to drop a sub. Currently trying to do this, but man if you mess up anything in the tanker you’ve got to main menu. EVERY room has a tactic in it to memorize. I do see myself memorizing after every mistake I make and being able to progressively get further into the tanker (at least until I blow my save). Usually bumping into a guard during a hold up made noise for another to hear regardless of how far they are or something stupid like that. Got to say, it’s extremely helpful that something like your video exists to at least give direction and a plan to tackle Big Boss rank w/ tags.

Just got the plat! Took me longer than 7 hours but i got there, amazing work on this guide man i couldn’t have done it without your help and it was fun kinda playing along with you, big boss run was tough but i managed to do it with the techniques here had to change a few saves around but other than that great work a little tip for when Solidus chokes you before the fight 7:13:30 you can look left at Snake and the mashing becomes easier!

Bro, first things first your guide is fantastic. It made most of the trophies up to Big Boss very easy and without it I’d probably have to do 4 runs to get the dog tags on say normal, then do a big boss run without any tags. With that said, the Big Boss run with dog tags is extremely hard 😅 The amount of times I had to repeat it the segment between the tanker save before the guard encounter up to the Fortune fight is insane. It literally took me 3 days just to make it to fat man (which is where I finished off last night) The first encounter at the elevator took some learning for me and the strut F warehouse was impossible at first. Getting past strut F and making it to E, only to have to figure that room out with the bomb being in motion the entire time. I could go on about just how difficult this run really is. Without your guide I’d be like a dear in headlights 😂 Cheers mucker.

Because I’d like to plan what I play early next year, coz I have FFVII rebirth and suicide squad to play as well!! And, just to confirm, it will be an 100% trophies, complete hand-held walkthrough right? No one has done that; other people have done one playthrough runs but haven’t gotten us the platinum trophy, and made us fend for ourselves after that. I have messed up too many times on the first section of the shell in strut A deep sea dock, that I just decided to restart, it took me many tries and lots of practice but I Mastered the Tanker on Extreme to beat it with no saves, buying myself an extra save and using my first save later on at the beginning of Raiden so I can avoid having to screw around in the hallway shootout and in the area with the general and Marines talking about Metal Gear Ray

Im not sure what it is with him, his location maybe random or something else affects it. But its not a big problem as we get about 3 extra dog tags with Snake and about 6 extra with Raiden, so you can miss a few ;)

When you were on the bridge after getting the detector from stillman did you really not know snake is under the cardboard boxes? Just curious. In fact if you shoot them with the usp there’s a ton of hilarious codec calls after with most characters!

it should work with a bit if improvisation i think mate, you would need normal dog tags and a few more on extreme i think. Quite a few have used this for PS3 version, is there no full guides like this for PS3?

@Optinooby If there's one for the ps3 we sure as hell can't find it... the same thing happened with mgs 3. but thankfully we used a mgs 3 master vol 1. guide and it worked like a charm! that guide basically held your hand through the end, i hope we can get mgs 2 plat with yours, just as you said a bit of improvising and we're golden! cheers 🍻

I don't know if you see comments for your old videos but I'm hoping you will read this one because I have a question. I did my own playthrough on very easy blind because I wanted to experience the games that way first. of the 24 dog tags on the tanker portion of very easy I have 20 and only missed four. In the plant portion of very easy I have 40 dog tags and only missed three. Am I able to start your walkthrough from after your very easy run or did you get every dog tag in the first run of those two. I'm not even sure yet if I need all dog tags regardless. But I'm assuming I only need enough dog tags to get the wig and stuff like that. So if you didn't finish all the dog tags or have less than what I just said I have I could probably just start on your next run or on the incidentals you do in between your next run. I hope you see this because I think your guide seems really well laid out.

Hi mate, i cant recall for sure, think we get all dogs on very easy, 80% of them on easy and 60% on extreme. Something like that, though if you look at my linked text guide, you will be able to check. I would say follow from that start, but if you dont want to, you will have to try to figure out if you will miss anything by using the text guide

@@Optinooby Thanks for that. I like this game well enough to just go from the beginning. An FYI for you though I suppose it doesn't matter now but if someone did do a playthrough as I did and starts a new game to follow your guide they will have an extra option to pick at the beginning for dog tags. I looked it up and essentially after completing the game once you can select 2001 or 2002. I guess this was for two different versions of the game. The default one is 2002 when you play the first time and what people should pick to follow the guide I would imagine. I don't know if it matters or not as it might just be different names on the dog tags but possibly it could be which enemies drop and which need to be coaxed. I am unsure on that one.

Kinda right, it is 3 playthroughs for all dog tags, but also 3 playthroughs total, one of those IS big boss! The whole point of this is to walk you through it all cause one may not realise how to do it all so efficiently, by the time you have the knowledge, you no longer need to play anymore for trophies! 2 playthroughs and big boss rank, you would only do 3 playthroughs and big boss rank if you dont mind wasting time by getting the dog tags on normal. You're already knocking out the guards on extreme so why not just get 80% of the dog tags there! No need to get them all on extreme, just however more you need, I get a few more than the required amount btw, but i leave quite a lot of the more annoying tags to get

Great guide. I am currently doing my first playthrough and stuck on the bit you did that door glitch in Arsenal Gear. Every time I lean against it, I then press r1 to go to fpv, let go of lean and do the cqc combo and then release the r1 button but it just doesn't seem to work. Have Konami patched it now?

@@sopor0 You can make a mistake even following a guide, problem is some rooms have tight strategies, if you step in the wrong direction or are a second too slow, can mean an alert and so restart, though ive done my best to use strategies which are a simple to pull off or don't have utterly strict timing. The boss fights are where the main problems come, most of them just need you to learn the attacks. Even the cheese methods can take a little practice. Luckily though, we make saves b4 every fight so doesnt take long to retry

Every difficulty has unique dog tags. Just play how ya want mate, its you playing, play blind once first if you want to, gotta to enjoy it however you do ;)

I finally got it to proc for me by NOT looking around / touching the analog stick AT ALL during the sequences and for extra insurance NOT skipping AFTER the FPV (my 3rd attempt trying to proc a bronze 🏆 and I wasn't taking any chances). Also I'm playing North American version. HTH. I only have Fox rank/plat for MGS3 now. Looking forward to using your plat guide for MGS2!

@@Optinooby i searched it up and apparently you have to do all VR missions on the ps3, plus get all dog tags on hard and extreme. At least you don't need big boss rank which I assume is the hardest trophy, so it may be somewhat easier but more grindy

Dog tags are exclusive to each difficulty. You maybe able to do normal difficulty and get all the dog tags on there instead of big boss, or just do extreme twice

You was outside too long, this usually happens, even for me. The way I avoided it is because I was leaning against the wall when i think Snake was supposed to sneeze so it skipped past it. Thought i explained the sneezing

Not sure where you missed them, i completely avoid about 5 Tags in the Tanker and about 20 in the Plant. BUT......I do collect 3 extra than what we need in the Tanker and 5 extra in the Plant

On Very Easy and Easy, you find the weapon (M9 is it?) in the starting room. I think normal and above its in the warehouse. On my Extreme playthrough, I dont bother getting dog tags from those first few enemies

i cant recall exact requirements, but yea u can switch things around if you want. This is just an optimal path, up to you if you makes things a little easier at the expense of another playthrough or so ;)

Hold L1, L2, R1, R2, Touchpad, Options all at once for 5 seconds. I know mega annoying and still takes a while. Its actually doing my head in on MGS3 and you can actually quit from options there, just takes ages to quit and reload
