Winners shouldn’t be getting the ability to ban cards IMO. I feel like there should be a loser’s wheel with generally lower power rewards (things like a common wildcard, or the tournament packs), but that that should be the one with the option to ban a card. Perhaps the winner’s wheel should have a small chance to *unban* a card with the exception of Hall of Fame cards.

If anything i think the losers wheel should have better or at least equal stuff. The worst part about season 1 was how a lot of the time there was one of them in the power position and the other one couldnt do shit. We need more and better comebackmechanics and not a "the rich get richer wheel" that absolutly bullies the current loser. If this wheel stays the way it currently is, cimo will literally not win a single match for the entire series. It will straight up be a 160-0. Gages deck is already so much better and will only grow more insane with more chances at the bullshit wheel. How is cimo supposed to come back from this insane lead gage currently has except with spins at the op wheel for himself. Give the op wheel to the guy that has a rough time instead of the guy with an already strong deck. Gage doesnt need the push but cimo definitly does.

I agree, those are good suggestions. The bans being on the winner's wheel makes NO sense whatsoever. The winner's wheel should be about creating hype moments, and bans do the opposite. They do balance the meta though, so the option to ban should be given to the loser.

@@jefi1298 to be fair, it's a ticket they can hold on to in case they get trapped in a losing streak (like gage could have won it last season during the CED high, and then held on to it until he started getting beat down by Blackwings to ban Kalut,) so it's not like they get it and immediately hurt the loser even more (makes a lot more sense to save it for a future losing streak.)

I disagree. Cimo has just been riding on the coat tales of Raigeki, Heavy Storm, and Torrential Tribute. If loser of each best-of-three gets to ban 1 card from shared ban list OR get a copy of 2 opponent's cards, this series could have remained interesting. Unfortunately, the duels were not worth watching after episode 6 with how unbalanced the game was. I'm was only watching the pack openings after ep 6. Raigeki, Heavy Storm, Torrential Tribute, and recycling these unfair spells constantly with Magician of Faith is too unbalanced making the duels not worth watching.

The wheel is a cool idea if it was for the loser to spin. As it stands now it is terrible. The last wheel had a snowballing problem and this one has it 10x worse. I hope a good catch-up mechanic will be implemented soon.

You don’t need to make a Winner’s Wheel incentive. Incentives are used for nudging people to do something they wouldn’t otherwise. The objective was already to win each week, so giving the winner an insanely overpowered wheel only reduces the competitiveness. That’s a big part of why last season felt so nihilistic halfway through.

I like the wheel... but I feel it'd be better of the loser got to spin it instead. As people have pointed out, it's a hard winmore wheel, and makes the advantage far harder. But if it went to the loser, odds are high there'd be more back and forth between winners, especially since the winner deciding to ban a card just feels like ridiculous overkill. But the loser choosing to ban the card that lost them the game? Makes way more sense.

I love the new stuff for the wheel but there needs to be something for the loser, as well - not just a pity pack. In season one, the biggest problem was with streaks of continual domination from one player, while the other gets clobbered into the ground, week after week. Maybe add a loser's wheel, with powerful effects, that you can spin IF you lose a number of games, in a row. The loser's wheel should then have the ability to ban cards, Snatch Steal the opponent's stuff, get multiple Redo-er Tickets, or maybe draw more cards from that weeks pack, to compensate for being behind.

Banning/unbanning after you win is pretty unfair. That should 100% be exclusive to someone on a losing streak to help even the odds. Imagine going on a winstreak, spinning a ban, ban the losers best card and now there’s no way they’re ever coming back.

So I have to agree with everyone here that the wheel thing seems a bit steep. Many powerful options for the winner that can just help steam roll the other. The way I would do this is have a winner's wheel and loser's wheel. You have both have the wild cards on them (Maybe just swap up the chances of rolling them), I like the redoer tickets idea but I would take away the banning a card thing on the winner and move it to the loser. That way the only way to unban one of your good cards is to win it back. Snatch Steal I think should be a loser only thing, think of it as they lost their tourney so out of revenge they steal a card from you and run away. Another thing that could work on the wheel would be "Exchange". Similar to the card at the end of your pack opening (Or the round) you exchange a card of a certain rarity with one of your opponent's from their lot of cards. Since you get those ultra rares that are just completely useless to you you might be able to snag yourself one from your opponent. But you could also do that instead you name a rarity and take one of theirs in exchange they get to pick one from your lot of the same rarity (That isn't the one you just stole). It gives more high risk play that can make it more fun. If you guys got any other ideas please comment below.

Another idea I thought of would be a card trader perk. On the winner wheel you can get tickets that allow you to see if your friend wants to trade one of your cards for one of theirs. Later on when archetypes are a thing you might be able to trade something from your collection to get one you need from each other. But you can also add a "fair trade" thing to the loser side where similarly to the Exchange idea I came up with you instead force a trade of two cards of equal or your has to be higher rarity. You know like when that guy comes up with a cruddy ghost rare card that is worth pennies and asks for your super rare that is worth a ton but you not knowing its actual value say sure and trade for something worth crap. I like the idea of the loser wheel having more "Evil" options that are things people use to do at tourneys and locals to get advantage.

I like the knew wheel rewards. I think they’ll make it easier to get specific pulls from sets to help play archetypes that weren’t possible last time with the mulligans and starlight. But this series will absolutely need a good comeback mechanic built in. Something like a three match losing streak gets an automatic ban. I’m hoping you guys thought of that and just haven’t announced it because it hasn’t come up.

I like the caotic and extremly strong nature of the new wheel but not if its only given to the player that already has the better cardpool. Spoiler: Gage will win the next few episodes by default. His deck is so much better and there is no way 24 packs are gonna give cimo any chance for a comeback. After the next few episodes Gage will have like 10 more power cards than cimo and the series is pretty much over if they dont change anything. What were they thinking when designing this? I literally skiped the gameplay part because its not interesting to see cimo getting stomped by a 10 times better decklist with 0 counterplay at all.

The wheel sucks, it punishes the loser, way to hard. Add a loser wheel, and make it so it has like a 50% rate of banning a card, the winner being the only one being able to ban a card sucks. To be honest it just seems lazy.

I think the wheel is a great addition but there needs to be some kind of losers opportunity. I think it would be good to introduce a losers STREAK wheel, where after a 3 loss streak is when the losers wheel comes into play. That way a 1 of loss doesn’t lead to anything to crazy, cuz it can happen, but a STREAK of losses should be emblematic that maybe something needs to change.

I like this, I too have concerns that a win streak could end up with the winner getting large amounts of staples, rerolls or (the worst imo) ban/unban tickets these could easily be used to stop the loser banning your best cards(when they finally win) or the worst option banning the losers powerful comeback mechanics that the winner doesn’t have (raigeki,snatch steal from prog 1). Leading to insurmountable leads and a repeat of the blackwing days. I like the 3 loss streak as that way you can hit a wildcard to pull you out,a ban/unban to even things up or insure you don’t get ‘banned out’ and finally a re roll/steal to get you what you need. I’m hoping a catch up mechanic is on their mind so the series can remain interesting even in these early episodes otherwise it’s looking like the age of gage.

See, I can see this wheel backfiring super hard if there isn't a better catch up mechanic in play for this season. Gage is by far in the lead by a long way and will probably keep it for a while judging by Alex's pulls. If the next spin is more win more slices of the wheel or even worse banning key cards from his deck. We might have to wait till the reprint sets for Alex to do anything.

Clown control was so bomb when I was doing a progression format with my friend, it was pretty dope to see it shine here with swords of revealing light. It only gets better with cards like gravity bind, level limit, stumbling, etc.

Ahh Metal Raiders…I have a very fond memory with this pack of Cards. I once got a Pack Error Pack where for some reason there were 2 Gate Guardians in the pack. My cousin was furious when he saw the results of me opening that pack. I eventually gave him one of them as a Birthday present.

After thinking about it, Change of Heart is definitely more broken than Heavy Storm Also there are plenty of backrow removal cards in Yu-Gi-Oh, but Change of Heart is 1-of-a-kind so I think Gage went 500 IQ here

In fact, ALL cards that switch control of one of your opponent's monsters to you were intentionally designed by Konami to be weaker versions of Change of Heart (which was the first, and most powerful card with a monster-stealing effect in the TCG/OCG). Snatch Steal lasts longer, but cannot steal a monster under any circumstance (e.g. Set monsters) - also it is susceptible to Spell/Trap removal and can be effectively negated if it's destroyed upon activation before it's effect can resolve (e.g. MST). Pre-errata Brain Control can only steal face-up monsters too, Mind Control has plenty of obvious downsides, and other archetype-specific Monster-stealing cards like "Falling Down" are balanced because they are archetype specific, and not generic like Change of Heart. So yeah, no there is NO control-switching card more powerful than Change of Heart because it is 100% generic, a Spell that can be played immediately, not susceptible to S/T removal, has no cost whatsoever, no restrictions for the stolen monster whatsoever, and can immediately steal a monster under ANY circumstance.

I love the additions to the wheel, but I do agree there should be a "Lose Streak" Wheel that gives big comeback mechanics. Say you lose 3 games in a row, you get access to 1-2 Spins of a Comeback wheel with the Common/Rare Wildcard removed and essentially gives you a chance to claim any Super+ Card or the other cool things you added to the Winner wheel. I know with all the side sets and what have you the tides can and will change quite often especially with those insane reprint sets, so this might only be an issue the first ~10 games/sets, but long term I do really think the Progression Series needs a "Comeback" Mechanic for people in the loser circle for multiple games. Heck maybe you already have a Lose-Streak mechanic planned and we just havent seen it yet, there are a lot of changes we dont know about!

The winner wheel should have the reroll the wild card options and the unban. The lower wheel should have everything minus the common wild card and replace that with a choose a prize thing. So if you spin that you can pick anything you want on the wheel

I'm all for this wheel, it's fun and always keeps the other player guessing. Like everyone else seems to say I think a lost wheel should be introduced too with generally weaker wedges. Wild cards topping off at super rare, 1 pity pack, ban a card all seem like a way to kind of catch-up while still having the snowball effect. More changes are great and I LOVE the redoer tickets, it'll give a chance to see generally higher powered decks

I'd honestly replace "wild card: common" with that since if you get rare that lets you pick either a rare or common you missed anyway. I'd also break it up into smaller bits and mix it up around the wheel so that there's always the risk of hitting it.

Not gonna lie, I think Gage has the right idea. You might still get a chance to nab these cards later but given Cimo's ABYSMAL LOB pulls, I would've mulliganed. Grabbing as many powerful DM staples as you can now feels like the right strategy since it's what allowed Cimo to dominate previously.

You start with 3 redos. This means they're a limited resource. This means you're OBJECTIVELY better to save them until stuff like the reprint sets, which for all of you people that can't think a few episodes ahead, ARE INSANE. Who cares if you can get 1 staple this early, if you could instead save your rerolls for a set where you can get 5+ staples in a single episode? When you compare the reprint sets with the potential gains from spinning the wheel, you're FAR more likely to pull significantly better cards from being able to reroll something like a reprint set, than you are from 10-12 episodes of spinning the wheel. It's a 10% chance on each wheel option atm. This means it's only a 40% chance per win to get something even half worth a reprint reroll. (+1 reroll, super/ultra/starlight wilds) This means that you're probably only going to average somewhere around 4-5 "worth it" rolls in that time frame, making it BARELY worth it. And that's assuming that using your rerolls even guarantees you the win in every single one of those duels, which isn't likely, as you can still brick and your opponent can still get god-tier rolls first try. It just feels objectively better to save them for the true power sets, aka reprint sets and long-term archetype sets, than it does to spend them on sets where you're lucky to get even 1 staple. And this becomes even more of the case when you start looking at the series long-term, and realize that you don't even NEED to pull the cards early, because there's like 40-50 sets where your best super/ultra/starlight wheel spin options are literally just those first 5 sets' power staples, and they're all long-term 1-ofs pretty much.

@@AtomicArtumas The problem is Cimo is already too far behind. You don't want to be spending 2-3 re-rolls on Dark Beginnings. If Cimo had a decent LOB pull, it probably would've been fine not to re-roll. But he didn't. You're better off getting 1-2 decent tools now so later you don't have to potentially sacrifice other potentially crucial cards in DB in hopes of getting powerhouses like Raigeki and Heavy Storm. Cimo is starting with a big net loss and is going to have to pull godly in Dark Beginnings to catch up. In hindsight, it might've been easier to at least get something worthwhile from MR as opposed to hoping for a miracle-box from Dark Beginnings. That way, when he does use his re-roll in that set he has a better idea of what to aim for.

I like the diversity of rewards but I am fearful that it could lead to another ‘blackwing’ incident. All the comeback mechanics (snatch steal,ban etc) are only for the winner so if gage pummels Cimo in the next 6 he will have accrued a massive advantage of wildcards/tickets while Cimo has been opening 1 tourney pack a week. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen and the reprint sets/re rolls help even the scores early otherwise I can’t see the age of gage ending.
