In like 2000/2001 I was desperately searching for new metal. I had literally listened to Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, etc. to death. One night I was watching a heavy metal TV show and the video for Bright Eyes aired. The melodies were exactly what I had been hearing in my head for years but didn't know existed. I then found Gamma Ray and went down the rabbit hole of Euro-metal. So many great bands that I had never heard of before living in North America. Thank you Blind Guardian.

My favourite album is Imaginations... and I had the opportunity to saw them in live when they played through the whole album. I strongly recommend checking out Tokyo tales album too especially if you don't have much time because all of the classic songs from previous albums are played on this release and the japanese crowd is just awesome you truely feel like you are there with them as you listen the album.

We lived for +/- 3 years waiting for a new album, always singing their songs. Then we were blown away! NIME was something we could not have imagined. We would go to concerts and sing the songs, shouting, hugging each others the first time we sung ebery word of War of Wrath and exploding when Into the Storm would follow! Over the years, Blind Guardian concerts were a moment that would unite our group of friends. It was like a pilgrimage. To this day Blind Guardian still gives me shivers and makes me shout the lyrics, so full of meaning to me.

One of the greatest Heavy Metal bands ever! They have their own unique sound. As soon as I hear the guitar playing , I know immediately that it is Blind Guardian because of their sound. Hansi the lead singer also has a very unique singing style. Their catalog is incredibly fantastic! In my opinion their greatest song is Valhalla. Every time they play it live, the crowd continues singing the chorus over and over until the band starts the next song. Definitely a phenomenal band! Excellent episode as usual!

I remember finding Nightfall in my mid 15s and discovering the band of my life, listening it for hours straight, and it's funny that when younger, I would love the more melodic and symphonic albums (Nightfall, Night at the Opera, Imaginations) but as time passe and getting older (I'm around my 33 now), I find myself loving more and more the older albums, which are more speedy and trashy. Either way, Blind Guardian is SUCH a GREAT band, you can follow their albums and find yourself seeing the band history, their evolution, shift of style, and still, find yourself loving they more and more. Hansi's sounds almost like the same as ever, and the band as a whole maintain its high level of quality. Watching they live is a experience of a lifetime. Long Live our Power Metal God-Kings.

And thanks for that huge project you did and the inspiration you gave me a few weeks ago to give the later work a new chance. Actually B.G. lost me a bit with Nightfall (and what came after...) on its initial release. "Too much" (production-wise) for me back in the day. But a couple of weeks ago I decided to go through ALL of the bands work from the first to the current album and must admit: Even Nightfall and Night at the Opera really grew on me now! Still they can't compete with Tales [...], Somewhere [...] and Imaginations [...] but they are way better than I remembered. i remember having discovered Blind Guardian in the year 2002, when i was 15. They came to my country a few months after my first listening, but i hadn't any money so i didn't went. A couple of months later, in a place where people who played Magic TCG and such, i saw a dude, in his early 20's, with one of the band shirts. We became friends, and he lended me his records (one at a time), he was a huge nerd, he was obviously a Tolkien fan and an avid D&D player, a bit of an outcast, but we all got friends thru listening Blind Guardian. With my friends at high school, the band became a bit of a meme, to this day. Everyone was trying to learn how to play guitar by those days, and some were more skilled than others. At every break, you could hear our group of metalheads playing "the bard's song", by different guys with different accuracy. I look back fondly at those memories
