This song is very sad and healing at the same time. If you are IU fan, you exactly what this song is about and can’t help crying. When you find out about this song and what happened to few of IU’s close friends including JongHyn from Shinee…..

Oh Jonghyun is one of my ultimate idols, if it wasn't for him we would've never had IU week, SHINee is one of the most important groups for my channel

This song has brought me so much comfort. I can't express it in words. Knowing that she will always be there singing to comfort me and everyone else who is struggling to hold their head up. When I have those days where the world is too much, she's there to slow things down and warm the spirit. She and this song are very much like a lighthouse on a stormy night, helping guide the ships to shore. It's everything.

this song is from 2019, but now its already considered a mini - classic in South Korea, means people/ singer frequently sing it in auditions, music shows, music programs etc. Its quite special bcs this is a "You" song from IU, its a song NOT abt herself, but abt her wanting to help others. IU's song is loved bcs you can/ you will self-insert to her songs/ lyrics, so this song --- abt helping others -- is so healing/ so social oriented :') also if you understand the timing when this song released, its quite scary how timely (or maybe not) this song's message :( and this song is a legit IU's song, bcs she indeed can say "I'll be there" in south korea, or to uaena. Why? Bcs yes her songs are quite ubiquitous in everyday life of them. So yes, She'll be there when you sad, when you need encouragement :')

I am not surprised that this song is considered a classic. It was a great song. Honestly, aside from that, I don't know a whole much else

This is my favourite IU song but it's the first time I've actually heard her version! On the competition show Kingdom: Legendary War, Eunkwang from BtoB, Jongho from Ateez and Seungmin from Stray Kids did a legendary cover of this song that I've listened to about 100 times. She did a beautiful job, as expected form the original singer and I loved her lower register. Can't lie, I still love the cover more but regardless, it's such a beautiful song.

yeah, I am not quite as familiar with those vocalists as much as IU but I know that all those groups tear it up!

The solo artist's legendary hit is considered number 1 in Korea. I really love your music, especially the ballads. All my friends in Vietnam only know IU, BTS and BP. They all like it. IU is fierce because her songs touch the hearts of listeners

This song brings to mind a few memories for me. One is the "Witch World" books of Andre Norton. In the big fight, the main character gathers her power and gives it to a warlock who needs it to defeat an enemy. Oddly another memory is Joe Cocker at Woodstock. They depth to which he "commits" to a song was what occurred to me. The song takes control of him. IU's commitment to this song was like that. It is not so much like she is singing the song as the song is living through her.

Sounds like a good book, do you like it?
@vidthreenorth40079 ай бұрын
@@Killdeer25 I did like it. Social changes make it a bit dated now, so I don't know if it would sell today. "Andre Norton" was a pen name for a female SF writer who wrote while SF was a male dominated genre. Her early books had male leads, and nothing really hinted that the author was a "she". In all honesty, as a male, I don't think I could write a female lead. Robert Heinlein did that a few times and the female audience didn't seem to find it as successful. But I would think that A. Norton probably felt more comfortable later, when she could eventually write "major" female characters.

We know IU's songs represent a part of her. And she has left a long trek of her heart with her music. This is the most gut-wrenching piece from her given its emotional context and the musical expression injected by IU. The lyrics connects with the part I found difficult to to enjoy regardless how I am move by IU's performance.

I've never heard this about mouth or nose breathing. I'm honestly bewildered! I'm an alto, for 30+ yrs now (although in one choir I sang tenor), I can pretty comfortably hit an E below middle C. If I plan an audible breath it's for the emotional effect, otherwise I'm just sitting on my back ribs to feel the breath get down, it's not my face pulling the breath in it's my diaphragm, at least that's how it feels to me. The brain is furiously trying to absorb what you just explained! I understand that lower registers aren't heard as well but I can definitely say that I don't choose to breathe through my mouth for more projection power. Now I'm wondering if I should! Iiiiinteresting! 💜

It's a whole wild thing, based for making it less effort to sing high with the nose breathing and everything, it's all about raising the pallet more effectively. My mother and I talk a lot about this , she was professionally trained as well as a lyrical soprano.

@@Killdeer25 ahhh ok this makes sense to me. I don't like sounding like Maureen Forester 🤣 I do mostly renaissance, Palestrina, Purcell, Victoria etc so I like a purer sound, like Emma Kirkby-ish. Not so straight it sounds like a boy but definitely not the hooty vibrato 😊
@Killdeer2510 ай бұрын
@brayonne1755 I am absolutely right there, the clearer the better in my opinion, I think that when it comes to pure singing I think one of the bester singers out there is Cristina Deutekom, I have one more clip if you want that is a good show of like face and mouth position that truly astounds me. Here is Christine singing der holle Rache, it is insane! kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4LThXqBjaarp6Msi=Niju9rfPc5v8KdRn

@@Killdeer25my old mind is blown because I said heck no to opera back in the day for two reasons: couldn't keep the score in my hand and altos all seemed to stab themselves in operas and they definitely never got the guy 🤣 So I'm blown away by the queen of the night link because I've never actually seen magic flute and I always thought the casting would be a woman the size of my pinky and I didn't realize she'd be unsmiley/so stiff?! In any case, for my ear both links have quite a vibrato. This might be a cheat that has become a bad habit but I don't lift my palette as much as classical/operatic singers do, you get a straighter sound. This is my bread and butter, they're quite good: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2iXlaqCibKCnpIsi=iEGwvMSCb7k7cV0K

It is interesting how much the translations can vary. When you first started reading the version you found, I at first did not recognize it. I have seen translations on this song where some verses don't make any sense at all while other versions read as beautiful as the song sounds. Translations that rely mostly on AI tend to be the worst. So you make want to check out more than one version. Related to the Vistor. IU is an old soul.

Singing base without a mic projects the sound around a meter or two. A friend described it as the voice you don't hear in an ensemble but miss if it isn't there.
