The PM2 tanto really does it for me, simply because the standard PM2 tip seems like it would break easily and the tanto shape solves that problem. Might not be as slicey with that thicker stock, but it gives me a reason to justify picking up another PM2.

i have the para 3. wouldn't need a paramilitary 2 but this on the other hand i could see trying to get. i don't own a tanto. only sheep's foot and drop points mainly as well as the spyderco blade shape which has yet to get a designation in the knife world. lol.

That was a crazy, stress filled experience. Thru all the crashes and everything I managed to somehow get the one I wanted. The DLC version made it into my cart and I was actually able to complete the order. It took 29 minutes in all. It does fill a lot different than my other PM2’s because of the weight at the tip. I like it a lot. I prefer the coated blades for tool steel because I live in Mississippi. 100% humidity here in the summer. Keep up the good work and speedy recovery.

Recently got into knives, my first purchase was a benchmade north fork roughly 5 months ago, had seen this knife come out a couple months back. I ended up missing out on the s30v version, so I told myself to wait for the m4. Was super excited because tanto is my favorite blade style. Long story short I fell victim to the crash aswell. My goal is to obtain this knife, I saved up my pennies and dimes but now I can’t find one😭

I was able to get the DLC version and I have been so happy with it. It has such a smooth action. I changed the scales to a set from Rockscale Design titanium scales. Now the action is even better.

I'm waiting on my Pro-Tech TR-3 Swat still from Blade-HQ, it's been a week and still not here! The tracking says the bad weather is causing delays and i understand because we just got 2 feet of snow (Wisconsin) so I'm eagerly waiting! I understand all the logistics of what these people (UPS) have to do to get people's packages to them, so I'm not angry. I have the DLC M4 unaltered. All of the screws and pocket clip are, in fact, black. So is the lanyard tube. What remains uncoated is the single barrel spacer, the liners and the stop pin.

I was in line at BHQ, had a plain blade PM2 Tanto in my cart, and the site crashed. I use all of my knives, I do not resell my knives, and I do not buy from scalpers. If you'd like to sell that knife, get in touch with me and I can promise you it won't go anywhere. If it does, you're free to call me out on this channel. Or just carry on and give it away. I spent 24 minutes trying to get out of checkout and by the time I did, I got an error saying the item was no longer available. I use tanto-bladed knives to scrape paint off wooden furniture during restoration in addition to the PM2 being probably my favorite knife design (it was the first "good knife" I EDC'ed). And by the way, I'd be fine with a PM2 Tanto in S30V! I just want the blade design because it's something I can and do use and have an admittedly-niche task that I really find it effective for in addition to the PM2 being my favorite knife! However, I do wish BHQ would divide their stock into five drops happening on consecutive days. That would prevent the site from crashing, at least.

Bought a satin for 255 off eBay, basically the "msrp" price. I don't see a problem with scalpers charging more for products that are actually limited in run. Unlike with graphics cards, whereas it's simply demand has exceeded supply.

as a design overall, I find this kinda strange, but like MC said, Spyderco is an acquired taste. I don't get all wet for tantos like some folks, but they certainly have their place. I liked what he was saying about blade geometry, and how different kinds of blades do different things. That how I build my collection, and as such, a knife like this would have a spot. I do really like the fact that this has such a strong tip. I dont entirely agree with the "if your tip broke, you were abusing the knife" statement. I think that accidents happen, and sometimes knives fall (nightmare) and with a tip like this, I could use the knife will less worrying. I could see grabbing one of these at some point. not if there will be a full production of these, but if they have one in s30 or whatever for 185 or something, I would probably pick one up. for now, I think my next spyderco will be a para 3 in a sprint run with a cool handle, or maybe some aftermarket terotuff or richlite scales would be cool.

Ok, I am exactly one of those people who based on photos assumed that this blade is super thick behind the edge - based on the width of the edge grind. But since the hollow grind only goes to about half the blade width, I don’t expect miracles on stuff like cardboard. Yes it looks super cool and I really hope that Spyderco will take two things from this limited release: (1) “oh, there is a lot of weird fudes that for some reason like tantos, we should do them more often”, and (2) “oh, we still can do hollow grinds, let’s do those more too!”

The screws and pocket clip on the DLC version are in fact black. The only thing that is not coated is the liner. I kind of wish the liner was black on mine as well but it doesn’t really bother me.

Fair, but haven’t they had sprint runs in the past and they didn’t have an issue until this PM2? I’m new to this scene, so I can’t really speak on it, just from what I’ve seen in videos of other sprint runs.

@@huntertatum6572 not to this extent but to my knowledge and experience whenever a sought after sprint run comes out some experience this issue and some get the knife with slightly less issues. Which means essentially it's a lottery system to some extent again I wouldn't be mad at the seller more so the people who intend to immediately sell them to the secondary market and buy multiples for that purpose. And likely have many pages on many devices open to maximize chances plus more pages open is going to cause more server lag which could net them more knives. Especially when they know it's a sought after knife they're more than likely to attempt to manipulate the system to stand to gain more. And pm2 is a relatively sought after knife. They stand to make a decent chunk of change if someone really wants it. So I'd say the scalpers who aren't really into the hobby just want money are more of an issue than the servers. If it were only people who legitimately wanted the knife there would still be issues but more people would get the knife and less accounts buying multiples which means more hobbiests could get one(but this is speculative but seems logical). But at the end of the day with limited sprint runs some people won't be able to get it and that's the name of the game, but if scalpers weren't a thing I'd presume less hobbiests would be screwed over and feel cheated. And again I don't have any hard data on this but with how many ebay sales for pm2 tantos have been up since that day I'd say 50-100+ if not more were taken by kinda scumbags who just want money and don't care about the knife, now extrapolate that out to them having multiple accounts on multiple pages on multiple devices refresh spamming to try and get one to immediately flip it's going to be a lot more traffic than if just hobbiests were battling other hobbiests for a chance at it. So at the end of the day even if scalpers weren't a thing there still might be some server crashes but even if there weren't some people who wanted it wouldn't get it just because demand outweighs the supply in most sprint runs, but that's kind of the just what sprint runs are. But I can pretty confidently state that if scalpers weren't a thing less hobbiests would feel screwed over.

I have wanted this knife ever since I first saw it teased. It is my dream knife and I never even had a shot at it since I live in Canada... Out of pure hatred for scalpers I will never be able to buy one even though I can afford. Truly tragic seeing stuff like m4 tantos and slysz Bowies from across the border knowing my only shot is paying some societal reject $1K+.
