Been wanting this knife for so long now and have been trying to justify the 410$ for this full TI version. But luckily BHQ has them on sale at 280$!!! So I finally pulled the trigger and mine is on the way! Love your vids man! You have shown me so many knives that I really want now!! Lol And also it does come in carbon fiber and micarta, I think jade also, in satin or coated blades!

Let me know how yours is. I ordered the same knife and it showed up with no symbols on the blade. I don't know if I got a prototype or a fake. I got the black carbon fiber version. If anyone knows what I have please let me know.

I grabbed blacked out bladehq version. Tanto & CF. Really loving it. Have been wanting a chaves for a while and am glad I waited this long. The kickstop adds an extra layer of magic too.

I was notified of the drop of these by the team at Eknives. I already have a 229 drop point, but thought that this one was more of what I was looking for. Happy to say that, yes… you are right, it really is a UUUUUGE improvement. Love this knife!

I got this knife two days ago and I was so damned extatic, Best knife I've ever bought. I love it more than my Rockstead and my Chris Reeve. Yesterday I was playing with it, upside down flicking it with my pinky and I dropped it. The very tippy top of the point chipped off. 😢 I guess that's why I can't have nice things.

@@noahams1003 It's expensive. Get one, it's worth it. It is a really beefy, heavy knife. Takes up a lot of pocket space so I won't carry it every day. It is the most solidly built tank of a knife. I am still mesmerized by the beautiful compound grind. Truly my favorite.

I picked this up in a tanto blade and love it! Normally hate a tanto, but not this. It has easily become one of my favorite knives. Was gonna get the G10 model since it will be a user, but the $10 cost reduction over fill TI just didn't add up.

I went with the G10 version because I tried them both out and the G10 had a bit more bass to the flipper and I really liked it. Favorite action of any knife I have so far.

I ordered mine yesterday, and after searching several KZbin sites I found people who had purchased one. Three of those had compared the titanium, the carbon fiber, the G 10 and the Micarta and ended up going with the G 10. After messaging with them that’s what I ordered, the G10. Looking forward to getting it. The consensus seems to be it just feels better in the hand and felt better using the flipper. Not the “saving” of $10. I’ll revisit this after mine arrives.

I love the weight of the Chaves knives. Nice to carry something heavy like this especially in the winter when I'm wearing heavier clothes. Need to remember I'm carrying.

Had this for a day and sold it the next. Although the kick stop feature is cool, it just didn't fire out like a regular flipper tab. Plus it was way heavier than my redencion street(which I love). If they decide to make a street model with a kick stop I'd be all over it.

I have the WOK Exclusive with Gold Fat Carbon and DLC. Kinda wish the flipper tab itself was a better shape for push button or light switching. Otherwise this thing is insanely good.

Does yours have slight side to side blade play as it opens and closes? I got mine from REC and there is a bit near fully open and fully closed. I'm not sure if it really matters since fully open it doesn't and fully closed the lock bar puts enough pressure on it to keep it from moving as much.

I really dig this. I do wish they had made the sharpening notch deeper (not wider like the previous version), just deeper so one can at least get 5 sharpening's out of it. I know I know I can always cut in my own sharpening notch blah blah blah. BUT... On a $420-450 knife (well over $500 where I live after taxes), I would rather NOT have to do that after 1 or 2 sharpenings at that price tag. They made the effort to make the notch, so it would be NICE if it was just slightly deeper. Will it stop me from buying the knife? Absolutely not. I just wanted to file my formal complaint 🤣

Does anyone know if the kickstop is considered a switchblade? It’s not an actual part of the blade which makes me wonder

Absolutely not considered a switch blade. The flipper tab is still the mechanism which opens the blade by a purposely imposed downward pressure created by the user at hand. Switchblades are operated (under legal terms) by button mechanisms or some other operation that disengages the blade and opens completely via a spring or lever. Basically the user still has to cause the opening with the kick stop purposely. Rather than an automatic that disengages and freely opens on it's own after the user releases some type of mechanism. And to be honest, as long as the knife itself meets the length requirements in your county/state, I sincerely doubt law enforcement would be savvy to the new "Chaves kick stop feature" rather than assuming it's just a regular flipper tab similar to any other knife. Just don't be doing illegal shit with any knife in you're pocket, and you won't have to find out what they really think (don't fuck around, and you won't have to find out).

Definitely not a switchblade as the other guy said. Speaking of laws I live in a state where OTFs and automatics are illegal and I still carry one every day. In my experience (at least locally) cops couldn't care less if you have an automatic knife as long as you're not pulling it out and doing stupid shit with it. My local knife shop has said the same thing to me when I brought up the same concern.

I think the reason they don't mill them out, is because they are such a great canvas for modifications and milling work. They could of course mill out a few millimeters deep pockets since the scales are so thick. And even that would take off some slight weight. When I get mine. I will send out the scales to an amazing laser company here in Norway to get some awesome Norse themed border work on the show scale, and not decided what to get inside the border (but will also be Norse or Viking themed).

I've come to the same conclusions! I ended up getting a tanto one from UrbanEDC with the seigaiha pattern. With the milled pattern really sold me though I agree I don't know any particular reason why this isn't being milled out. This thing is a CHONKER. I think it's the same reason Hinderer REFUSES to use torx screws in 2023 (lazy and cheap). Love my XM-18, love my 229 kickstop so far, but the community really should push back on designers cutting corners on $300+ knives. Not saying we riot, just make it clear they need to step up to the standards.
