Here’s the translation. Bruises on our elbows Hey calm down, I told you, look at me It’s time to stop hiding behind any corner Tell me where you’re running to and why you’re panting You’ve never seen before who’s danced with demons Who grew up with strong dreams and frail hands Who’s been thrown in the ditch, pressed to the edge Covered in gold and then stabbed, as the gorgeous Frida Khalo I used to shut up in front of everyone, instead now watch me Well then you stay with your lot Crawl, pray, blend yourself We don’t lack any courage, we are dauntless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don’t give a fuck about you And your lot with which you eat, crawl, pray, throw up We don’t lack any courage, we are dauntless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don’t give a fuck about you And your lot with which you eat, crawl, pray, throw up We don’t lack any courage, we are dauntless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don’t give a fuck And if you want to know my story sit down and listen It’s a handful seconds long, now count them The wish to shine, the fear, everyone else complicit Of that fear of shining we feel as youngsters Such a beautiful morality, this one of half men Centuries long culture, made up of stereotypes Despise the less fortunate than you, but praise the wealthy ones Honor your mother and your father, but spit on his back But I’m left with my path, the glances, three fearless friends If the world hasn’t got it, now it’s gonna start watching us Got so many rags thrown at me without complaining I may be zero, but the zero pisses on yours and your lot’s head Crawl, pray, blend yourself We don’t lack any courage, we are dauntless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don’t give a fuck about you And your lot with which you eat, crawl, pray, throw up We don’t lack any courage, we are dauntless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don’t give a fuck about you And your lot with which you eat Yeah, your lot with which you eat Yeah, your lot with which you eat!

It‘s really worth looking at the lyrics. Here‘s a snippet: „You‘ve never seen those who danced with the fucking devils, those who grew up with strong dreams and fragile hands.“
@rigelorionis86063 жыл бұрын
(english translation) Måneskin Lividi sui gomiti Bruises on our Elbows I told you to calm down, look at me The time to hide behind those corners is over Now tell me where you're running to and why you're panting Haven't you ever seen those who danced with the fucking devils? Those who grew up with strong dreams and frail hands Those who were pushed into the pit, squeezed to the sidelines Covered with gold and then pierced, the beautiful Kahlo Frida I used to keep quiet in front of everyone, but look at me now So you stay with your group Crawl, pray, blend in We don't lack courage, we are fearless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group with whom you eat, crawl, pray, vomit We don't lack courage, we are fearless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group with whom you eat, crawl, pray, vomit We don't lack courage, we are fearless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don't give a fuck And if you want to know my story, sit down and listen It will take a few seconds so start counting Wanting to shine, being afraid when everyone else is complicit In the fear to shine that we have when we're young Beautiful morals, but made for half men A secular culture, but made out of stereotypes "Despise those who have less than you, and praise your superiors" "Honor your mother and father, but spit on them from behind" But I still have my way, people's attention, three friends who aren't cowards And if the world has understood, they will start looking at us And I've been kicked around many times without complaining I'm zero, but zero pisses on you and your group Crawl, pray, blend in We don't lack courage, we are fearless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group with whom you eat, crawl, pray, vomit We don't lack courage, we are fearless We grew up with bruises on our elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group with whom you eat Yeah, the group with whom you eat Yeah, the group with whom you eat
@Roy7819793 жыл бұрын
Lyric in English is mandatory for this song. "honor your mother and father but spit on them from behind" - "the fear of shine we have as young people is a beautiful moral but cowardly, a secular culture but of stereotypes."
@lellab.81793 жыл бұрын
And now you HAVE to look at the transtated lyrics. When I first listened to "Lividi sui gomiti" (and even "In nome del Padre") I thought: "Ok, this is a bit too harsh for my taste. Never mind." But the second time I started to pay attention to the lyrics (no big deal, I'm Italian 😆) and now this is one of my favorites.
@susanneknudsen9133 жыл бұрын
It was first after I looked at the translated lyrics (I'm Danish) that I really fell for it, so totally get what you mean! Funny enough it's their Italian songs that touches me the most, even before understanding the lyrics. That just proves how talented they are - the instruments compliments the texts and vice versa!
@susanneknudsen9133 жыл бұрын
The last couple of days I have sort of fallen in love with this song. Especially the part where it seems to turn up a notch (about 2 minutes into your video, beginning with "Quindi tu resta con il tuo gruppo"). It seems so intense! I don't think that I before have thought this much about how clear emotions come through in Måneskin songs compared to other artists. They are so talented in every way! Thank you for doing this, it was awesome to hear your reaction to it! Totally appreciate what you do, you are amazing! By the way, I love your hair today :-) Are you trying to get Damiano's previous hairstyle? ;-)

Hey Angelo, great reaction as always! I love this song. I'm an Italian Maneskin fan who happens to love English, so I did a quick translation of the lyrics for you. It's not perfect, maybe a bit too literal, but I think it's good. Bruised elbows 'Hey calm down' I said to you, 'Look at me' It's time to stop hiding behind those corners Now tell me where you're running to and why you're panting You've never seen those who danced with fucking devils Who grew up with powerful dreams and weak hands Who were pushed into a ditch, crushed on the edge Covered in gold and then pierced through, the beautiful Kahlo Frida I used to stay silent in front of everyone, but now look at me So stick with your group Crawl, pray, conform We don't lack courage, we're brave We grew up with bruised elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group you eat, crawl, pray, vomit with We don't lack courage, we're brave We grew up with bruised elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group you eat, crawl, pray, vomit with We don't lack courage, we're brave We grew up with bruised elbows We don't give a fuck And if you want to know my story, sit down and listen It only lasts a few seconds, so count them now Wanting to shine, being afraid and all the other accomplices To the fear of shining we have when we're young It's a beautiful moral but for cowards A centuries-old culture (or maybe he means lay culture, I'm not sure) but full of stereotypes Despise those you have less than you, praise the wealthy Honor your mother and father, but spit on them from behind But I am left with my own path, people's looks, three friends who aren't cowards And if the world got it, now it will start watching us And I got booed at (not sure if it's the right meaning, but might be) so many times without complaining I may be zero but zero pisses on you and your group Crawl, pray, conform We don't lack courage, we're brave We grew up with bruised elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group you eat, crawl, pray, vomit with We don't lack courage, we're brave We grew up with bruised elbows We don't give a fuck about you And the group you eat with Yeah, the group you eat with Yeah, the group you eat with

Great reaction! the music and lyrics of this song are so powerful! Måneskin are making Italian Rock known around the world and like many have mentioned in comments there are other italian rock bands worth a listen, you've already reacted to some of Vasco Rossi's fantastic songs! today I will suggest another italian rock band with a few of their songs: the band is called "Negrita" here are a few songs you might like to listen to: 1) Man in the corner 2) R.J.(Angelo Ribelle) 3) Mama Maè 4) XXX 5) Sex 6) Cambio Live 1995 1° maggio Roma 7) Hollywood 8) Paradisi Per Illusi (there is a live version "LIVE AREZZO WAVE 1995" but could be taken down) , etc. etc. etc. They have many great songs and are great live! Keep up the great reaction videos. ps -just for your info the former bass player (from 1992 to 2013) is a friend of mine from my town and we used to hang out together as teens then he moved to northern Italy. Ciao!

Great reaction dude, as usual. Your reactions are fun intelligent and honest. To be pedantic, you've yet to react to the full version of In nome del padre (In the name of the father). You only checked on a shorter version of it that somehow diluted the effect of that song, which is a beast - as hard as or actually harder than this one

hi😁 I love your reactions to the Maneskin videos, I am a fan of theirs since I saw them for the first time at X-Factor in 2017, I am Italian and I am a lover of rock ... so what else to add, I just thought about 44 years old I would have come back to love a band so much as when I was 16 and I listened to Guns n 'Roses, Queen or Nirvana, however I wanted to ask you if you would like to comment on a video of Melancholia a very good Italian alternative rock group, also they participated in X-Factor Italy last year, they make songs in English, the songs "Leon" and "Alone" are beautiful .... I'm waiting for your reaction video, trust me you won't regret it, thank you very much from Alessandro 😁👍
