Prince is my favorite artist of all time. If you're a metal head you'll really love songs like "I'm yours" where Prince is playing every instrument on the album at 16 years old and he does an incredible bass guitar solo/electric solo against himself. It's not a catchy song but it's just Prince flexing his instruments, great drum solo he does too. "3 chains of gold" when doves cry extended. Let's go crazy is another rock classic from Prince. He was an incredible multi instrumentalist, dancer, rapper, had so many octaves, great producer, engineer and as you hear an incredible lyrcist. 🤗

The best way to discover Prince’s talent is to see him perform live… if you’re into jaw dropping guitar solos, check his renditions of Motherless Child, Jungle Strut, While My Guitar Gently Weeps with Tom Petty, or Shhh, you won’t be disappointed!

I love when someone is willing to dive into something they aren’t familiar with. Prince is a great choice. Wrote, produced, played every instrument, sung every note by himself on many of his songs. For example, he played all the instruments on this track. He was a genius. I love that you focused on his lyrics because not many do. He isn’t even in the song writers hall of fame (which is ridiculous). I always have tons of Prince recommendations. Since you are a metal guy, I’m going to recommend some more guitar focused songs, and I always recommend live performances because that’s a whole other level of Prince. So.. I recommend the live versions of Shhh (it’s an R&B type song but has killer guitar solos), The Question of U, Joy in Repetition, Motherless Child (lots of guitar with a heavy metal like part at one point), The Ride, Guitar (from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno), and you really should check out a live version of Purple Rain. There are many amazing versions, but I recommend the one from the Syracuse show on the Purple Rain tour or the 1985 American Music Awards. You can’t help but be blown away watching him perform that song live. 💜💜💜 He also did a great Santana medley that you might enjoy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/boXXmImrn6l9b7csi=gyfzE2ZdouV6QbTq

Prince the question of you -live 2004. Is a live performance with a mash up of 3 songs. This shows Prince command of the stage and the audience. Mash up of the question of u/the one/and Fallin’ by Alicia keys. Prince rapping: MTV MUSIC AWARDS 1991 “gett off”live. Prince covers Radiohead “creep” Coachella live. Prince DMSR live in Detroit musicology tour 2004 (this is a perfect example of Prince’s Minneapolis sound. Prince is the creator of the Minneapolis sound.) Prince montruex Switzerland 2009 live concert is rock heavy and jazz. One of his best live concerts of his career. (Spanish castle magic-Jimmy Hendrix/all shook up-Elvis covers). The sexy temptations of Prince-“When eye lay my hands on u.” The slow jazz rock version of “little red corvette.” The broken heart love song-“I love u but I don’t trust you anymore.” The jazz songs “love like jazz” and “she spoke to me.” The live lovesexy concert 1988. Were the first have is about sin and the profane and the second half is about God and love. This is where Prince does his version of Alice in wonderland-where Prince takes you on a journey. With in this music mania we are flooded with over the top costuming and most of his hits to date. All the sexy and sultry songs are sung intermixed through out this romp.

It’s definitely gonna take more than one video to learn how dope of an artist Prince was. You need to check out his live rock performances, but he’s so versatile there isn’t a genre he hasn’t mastered.

What takes Prince a little above most artist is his versatility. He has so many sides to him there is no no style or track that can define him. He has so many tracks that are not intended for pop mainstream or pop or rock audience that it understandable that folks are unsure about him or do not hear anything about him other than his pop hits.

Super Bowl performance. He does a couple of his songs but also does a medley of CCR, Bob Dylan and Foo Fighters.

Ok, so now you've heard Prince's vocals (to a degree). You say you've heard "Nothing compares 2 u", so you've witnessed his arrangement skills (to a degree). Why not listen to Prince a a bit player in an ensemble. He doesn't sing a note and he steals the show from absolute legends! The George Harrison dedication performance of - 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. Peace

The song A Million Days is from this same album, but it has a more rock feel, and the music video shows Prince in the studio recording everything himself. One of my favorite music videos in that regard. The performance of Family Name from the Live at The Aladdin 2002 concert film is phenomenal as well. That song sways more towards the metal side of the rock spectrum (although, Prince never fails to make rock sound funky as well).

Hiii just a couple of songs i think you would like, princes songs can be a little long but that’s because it’s always a lot going on. This song is much later in his career. If you want to hear guitar work or really hear the band i think you’ll like these. Computer Blue(Hallway version) its longer but its a vibe. We Can Funk, she’s always in my hair(extended mix) the question of you, and Thieves in the temple the remix. When you listen to him you really have to be prepared for anything and have a open mind the Prince you listened to is a tame version 😭😉 I’m looking forward to seeing which songs you like they are quite interesting.

As a metal head “Shhh” live in Detroit is a moment where you get to hear a guitar solo(Prince) and drum solo(it’s insane)with a live performance that will blow your mind! Edit: also Prince was ranked #4 by Rolling Stone(pre woke)as a Guitarist and played and was “proficient” on over 20 instruments. To me Prince is the equivalent of Maynard and Tool. Someone that was always talked about and from my home state, but I never got around to but was pleasantly surprised by. ENJOY THE DISCOVERY!!😏

Prince is a modern day Mozart. You need to go back to beginning and work forward in his catalogue. It would be a great journey and at the end positive you’ll be a big Prince fan.
