Good points. They weren't exclusives but certainly better on Xbox imo. Jedi academy was great too
@BOYD198110 жыл бұрын
adamsdownfall MJR was ignoring the fact that some of the games were available on PC, and if it's good enough for MJR, it's good enough for everyone else :P The Xbox was basically a PC itself, and most of the games that are also on the PC have the Xbox config files I know Half-Life 2 and Butcher Bay are both available on PS3 and 360, but they're only available as part of collections. They were exclusives for that generation of consoles (although I would really loved to have seen a PS2 port of Half-Life 2).

Back in the day I owned a PS2 and a PC. I always wanted an Xbox console but my parents never bought me one. After years when I had my own money I bought this console and started to collect games and play with it. I loved original Xbox and because of I played a lot of multiplatform on PC I collect games that I played on PC, on Xbox.
@sigurdtheblue8 жыл бұрын
The thing I loved about XBox is how it had its own personality, like the Gamecube did (although Gamecube didn't really have enough original games for that personality to show). A lot of the games from this era had a dark and rough feel to them that felt authentic and personal. Out of the three consoles of the time, I would say XBox really shows the most personality and I guess that partially has to do with its connection with Sega - effectively being like a continuation of the Dreamcast. I also loved the controllers in this generation and the XBox looks pretty cool (but I think both were cooler on the Gamecube). The PS2 was definitely the most functional though.
@versatilelord88937 жыл бұрын
sigurdtheblue yeah bro the games for the og Xbox always caught my eye because they were these weird ass games that I've never heard of before but still wanted to play lol their library REALLY stood out in comparison to the others due to the originality

the 6th generation of consoles all stood out each on their own and i love all four (gamecube,OG xbox,ps2, and dreamcast). sadly afterwards the ps3,ps4,xbox 360, and xbox one are all almost the same thing and hardly any games stand out (with the exception of the nintendo systems because they still keep it creative and weird, i love them).
@ryanjackson73875 жыл бұрын
I disagree the 360 had ton of games and variety too, I didnt own the PS3 long enough to say the samething as a fact but I'm willing to wager it did too. I do like the 6th generation the best overall. But 7th gneration was great too. The current 8th generation has dropped the ball which is why retro gaming is back in full swing.
@angrymobsters15992 жыл бұрын
@@Abel-Alvarez Not really true. Wii stood put cause by god it's Nintendo and its the Wii ffs 🤣 Ps3 had tons of exclusives like Kill zone Resistance, last of us, little big planet, and continuation of older franchises like sly 4, god of war, rachet and clank while also having one of the largest lightgun selection of games of almost any home console. Xbox had tons of amazing obscure shmups and fighters and obviously the awesome exclusives they had too plus the kinect which i dare say to this day was one of the coolest pieces of tech ever made and far ahead of it's time. That gen was truly the last gen to produce some level of creativity and unique console experiences. This era and xbox one/ps4 era are by far the weakest.

2 things: first, the original Fable absolutely was an exclusive when it launched in 2004, you can read about it here or do your own research if you don’t find Wikipedia adequate enough [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fable_(2004_video_game)]. It wasn’t until a year later that they released an extended version of the game called Fable: the Lost Chapters on Xbox and Windows, making the extended version not an Xbox exclusive, but still a Microsoft exclusive. And second, I just watched part 1 of these videos and I don’t recall Fable being in it, but maybe I missed it. 🤷🏻♂️ Edit: I went back and double checked. Fable is not in part 1 of this series, Saint L.

Glad you included Gunvalkyrie. That game was THE reason I purchased an XBOX back in 2002. There wasn't a whole lot out for it besides Halo at the time, but the Gunvalkyrie demo I played made me want an xbox so bad. The biggest problem with the game I didn't feel was even the controls but the lack of shadows under the character to help you see where you're going to land on the harder jumping parts into the game. I still play it now and then. If you like hard action/platforming games, it's definitely worthwhile. I remember reviewers either loved it or hated it, so if you can, play it beforehand unless you find it cheap. Crimson Skies, awesome game, lots of time spent playing 4 player splitscreen.

I'd better point this out. JSRF is not a sports game. It's more of a stunt game, but has a very unique style to it. It's a game where you play as a revenge seeking zombie in this 1950s style retro-futuristic utopia. You infect the citizens, possess them and you can use your organs as weapons. It also had a great soundtrack of covers done by a ton of alt. rock and Indie alternative bands like Cake, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, etc.
