I'm about 8 years older than these guys and as a teen I followed Hendrix Deep Purple Genesis Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin Whitesnake and all the rest of them BUT it was only when Metallica covered Elton John funeral for a friend 2024 when I was TOTALLY blown away because I bought that album in 1976 UK and Metallica took it up three levels at least in pure awesomeness and I was so blown away the other week that I started watching their videos and their chats and interviews and everything else and you know what these guys are the most down-to-earth friendliest bunch of musicians I've seen you know. I've got a lot of appreciation for them in a very very short period of time. There's a lot of band comradeship here and it's been an absolute blast to watch all of the videos over the years so thanks Metallica 🔥

Wow, discovered this band in 2022, this is one of the bands that made me a metal head, the first band being Black Sabbath, now I’m glad I found this band, because I want to catch them on this tour, Metallica also made me pick up a guitar, and now I really wonder if I’m gonna be as good as them, rock on for all eternity Metallica
@joelmacdonald69943 ай бұрын
Gotta ask. If you just discovered them in 2022, how old are you? Give us a couple year’s range to protect your privacy, that’s fine. But I’m guessing teenage years? That’s fucking awesome if you’re that young and embracing metal. Fuck this pop shit. Pantera recorded a live show in which Phil said, “they say metal is dead”, and they were there to prove it wrong. If you’re as young as your comment suggests, all of us metal fans were right; metal was never dead, never will be. Welcome to the metal community! I became a metalhead in the early 2000’s as a high schooler. Didn’t even like the metalheads. Small town, most were jerks and elitist, but being a loser I wanted to see what it was. Holy shit, the energy of metal was right up my alley. I’d always loved high energy songs. Still didn’t help in high school, but I didn’t care. I found all sorts of metal and hard rock that those jerks didn’t know about, and I probably appreciate the classic bands more than most of them ever did. Those asshats were worried about being cool, I just found what I liked. No matter your age, I’m glad you found a way to connect with the music and energy!

That’s not true at all. In fact, it’s logically the exact opposite. The people who can’t hold drumsticks properly are the people who don’t play drums. And people who don’t play drums probably think Lars is spectacular. The hate comes from those who CAN hold their drumsticks properly. Either match grip or traditional. 😉 Lars utterly sucks as a drummer and musician but it’s a straight up fact that there would be no Metallica without him. Truly- given how nuanced and inexplicable the chemistry of bands can be, I would bet money that if Metallica exchanged Lars for any technically superior drummer back in the mid 80s, Metallica would never have amounted to anything compared to how big they are now. Lars is essential.
