I'm about as old a Metallica fan as it gets (literally had kill 'em all on cassette). Their new music reminds me of fast food; it's pretty good when you're eating it but when you're done you have no desire to go back for a second round.

I love it! Can’t wait to hear the album!!! Lars playing that double bass was just awesome, it’s great to hear that he can still do it!

Hey man love the vids, what kind of picks do you use; and could you do a guitar collection, you have some badass guitars!
@louistorres2 жыл бұрын
I've swap between the Dunlop Flow Jumbo 2.0 and the Bog Street Battle Axe picks! These are the two I love, after going through tons in finding my faves. Funny enough, you mentioned going through my guitars but three years ago I started doing that and literally, no one watched them. They were the lowest viewed videos, so I stopped. :)

@@louistorres thanks man you have been a great help you sold me on the levy strap and the saddle you posted. Also from a old video the Randall rg1503 combo because fuck carrying around a 4x12 and head. But man some people are ungrateful shit bags. I love all your guitars but I’ll go back and find the vids love what you do keep it up man!

Like anything, some people love pickles and some hate it. I'm not sure if it's a jealousy issue bc it IS Metallica but maybe music has changed enough where new Metallica music isn't as profound as it used to be for some while others are fans that will like anything they put out bc they're diehard. :)

I’m with you dude. It’s passable. Although, I do feel like Lars deserves a little more credit. I think he has been practicing.
@ValSchnitzel2 жыл бұрын
Giving him credit for being a slightly less shitty drummer?! He is in the biggest band in the world, his drumming game should be way stronger than this.
@louistorres2 жыл бұрын
I listened once and just paid attention to Lars and I think production wise, it sounds better than St Anger but his fills are still the same as they were 40 years ago during Kill'em All.

Naw, I'm still here. :) Something happened to my editing software where the entire intro was deleted. Hahaha. Just the other day I finally got around to recreating it, so I'll have more videos up this week. :)

I love the kill ‘‘em all vibe overall, but I agree about the solo. Rehash and repetitive
@louistorres2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I totally agree with you! Cool style of yesteryear but that solo should have been fine tuned..Kirk doesn't really write his solos, he creates them on the spot while in the study and that's the issue.

I can't be the only one who skips that song when it come up on the playlist
@jeremyzumm99512 жыл бұрын
It's not horrible but it's nothing exciting either. It's missing that spark or energy the first few albums had. For what ever reason. Take your pick. Age or just not having that hunger anymore. It's more like there going through the motion rather than having something new to say. I always look forward to your next video Louis! Take care

It really has more snap than 90% of the shit coming out these days. I prefer E standard, down tuning is the easy way, I do both.

Love the riffs but the vocals and lyrics aren't my thing. And I'm a huge Metallica fan. And bro, you can make E standard heavy... Dead Embryonic Cells by Sepultura proves it
@louistorres2 жыл бұрын
I agree, E was always the way to go, but in 2022, I love the lower tunings. :)
@bucknasty692 жыл бұрын
I think Obituary’s first album was in standard tuning as well and it’s a banger.
@nikokaliterna2 жыл бұрын
It is not the most innovative song, but I think is well executed (exept the solo, which is sloppy). The songwritting is very ''by the book'', but I don't blame metallica for that. The members (exept Kirk) do kinda good job, James sings better than he has sung ever before, Lars plays double bass in time again and Robert is as always brilliant. So it is a pleasant listen to my ears.
@louistorres2 жыл бұрын
I agree, it's very well written and safe, which is how Metallica has been the last 34 years since Justice. I think they piece all of Lars' drumming in separate tracks so they can fix it in post. :D
@MK-oz2lf2 жыл бұрын
I think your intro song needs the guitar parts to be tracked twice; one left one right. Bass track would work too.

I'm with you on that 6.8. I think it could have been better but don't forget that they don't really write anything until they are ready to create an album. That's weird to me, you don't really have time to sit with it.

pussallica are still weak. one band that has gotten better..cannibal corpse!!! i've said for years pussallica are trend jumpers. they conform to what's hot at the moment. if poka was hot that's what they'd be doing.
@JMK-kb1yq2 жыл бұрын
The riffs & vocals are indicative of their current collective musical abilities. The lyrics are meh. In other words, it's painfully obvious that without Cliff Burton's presence (writing, arranging, knowledge of theory & harmonies), their best possible effort is basically E standard low to moderate gain jock rock lol. Again, I don't hate it, but it comes nowhere near the first three records. At least it's not LOAD. Lol
@louistorres2 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! I totally agree with you! All great points and yes, Cliff MADE Metallica flow.
