Kirk Hammett is such a great person. You can just tell he overall is a good man, as a human being. Kirk shows emotion, and is such a huge piece of that band. You cannot ask for a better person to have in a band, and be amazing as he is to the fans. Unlike a lot of celebrities or musicians, out of all people, if you ran into Kirk Hammett on the street, he would take the time for you.

The happiest I've ever seen Kirk was when he was in Driver School. He seems to love learning, loves being around normal human beings who aren't megalomaniac narcissists, he looked like he was being respected, and was rarely interupted. It's so cool to see them laugh at themselves, it's an out-of-body experience for them and it's exactly what they needed. It's real. It's a reality shot. And Kirk, as usual, is the first to laugh at himself and not being a big ego guy, a lot of guys wouldn't like to see themselves exposed doing dumb stuff, his immediate response is to laugh. Understand, they have the power to pull the plug at all times, it's their show and it"s their image, it's supposed to be highly sensitive. But I guess that's what makes Metallica great, as serious as they can get, and sometimes they get really pissed off and very sensitive about stuff, but they also know how to tone it down. They're just goofing around and joking, being silly, having fun. They know better.
