@@MrParkerman6 - Um, James has always been quite the "traditionalist", so he probably wás conflicted at this very moment, like he was expressing that "it's crazy" what all had been changing with physical music releases. - That's not to say he doesn't try new things, but he's probably one of the most difficult to try new things, which is also reflected in other things he does or likes. - Lars is the opposite, he wants to keep changing things all the time. Whether it's their music, his own playing, the production, the shows, releases, etc.

I'm surprised that the music industry never tried switching from CD's to DVD's as the norm. There's so much you can do on that, and now Blu-rays too, that replicates the experience of CD's and even back when vinyl was in it's heyday, tenfold. It is also much harder to burn a DVD for filesharing that CDs are.

When you've been a metal fan for 40 years, your idols feel like family in a weird way. People I relate to. When I'm down and lonely, I watch snippets of this movie and I feel a little better. I don't care what others think. I'm a lonely soul and it works for me. And I can relate to Hetfield. I know what it's like to get stuck inside ones own head. It's like a prison. And it's oh so hard to get out of there......

I love that they did a live studio performance of the entire album, which is just a great way to see how a band plays on their own. Besides, you get like another version of the album and kind of a preview to what they would do live. Was it an extra incentive to buy the album?... Sure. - I'd have bought it without the DVD, but I definitely felt it was an extra treat. - But these days, people wouldn't care, especially the newer generation, since everyone knows it will end up on the internet in one way or another. - There are still plenty of people that like to buy physical, but it's a dying generation. - We're 18 years on now and, while at times they still include like a DVD with extras, it's just not that interesting anymore and artists will often throw everything up on KZbin themselves now. I will say that one trend I hated was these bands (often symphonic ones) that would throw in an entire second CD with "instrumentals", but it was often literally just the same CD with the vocals removed and no extra or alternate arrangements or anything. I felt that was a very cheap way to give people extras and a waste of plastic as well. - What point does that serve?... Singers who want to do karaoke?... I mean, I sing and I don't even care, I just want to hear the full thing if I do listen to the album. - And sometimes they would throw in a track that just has the background-orchestration and it would sound very empty. - Just what?... - If they wanted to give extra content, they should've made new songs or arrangements or something. It used to be that singles and EPs and such would get some "B-side" tracks or covers, which usually wouldn't be that great, but at least that would make it somewhat interesting. - Anyway...

If James would not have interfeared, we would not have the DVD with all the St. Anger songs from their rehersal room with ROB TROJILLO!!! @ROB: You're a great bass guitar player and I guess your heart and spirit is even better. You bring such a lot of good energy into the band since you joined! You're somebody who can even smile and be relaxed while playing BATTERY...! Thank you man and keep on being what you are. A wonderful human being!

2000’s were so weird. The music industry was so behind. People didn’t want the physical copy anymore, but record labels were obsessed with physical sales. Record labels were getting eaten alive by people, and now today people are starting to independently stream music.
