He got hazed in the beginning when they were in their mid 20s because imo they didn't properly grieve cliffs death they just kept going which was good for their career overall but bad for them as individuals. They're human people make mistakes but this whole Jason got treated terrible narrative is just wrong. They were actually good friends for most of that time and in the early 2000s they were in a bad place. James was in a bad place. But he didn't treat Jason real bad or anything the way people make it out to be. It was unfair that he expected Jason not to do a side project when he isn't allowed to contribute much into Metallica but again people are human and make mistakes and James is a diff person than he was 20 years back. People really over exaggerate this shit it's like a KZbin internet trend I've noticed.

There are three great things about this - Firstly, James is a total pro and the performance didn’t suffer. Secondly, Kirk really stepped up and totally walked through that like a trooper. And lastly, I miss this band...THIS band. I’m reminded of what they used to be and it’s a good feeling.

Best performance of this song I've ever seen!! Het's frustration adds some genuine rage to his vocals...total beast mode. The tempo is perfect...faster than usual. Newsted's backups and harmonies (even on a thrash classic like this) are so choice! He was the best. Het slamming down the mic at 3:15 is epic. Huge props to whoever filmed & caught this classic moment!

28 years ago, I can’t believe it! I was friends with a guy who worked for Metallica, that tour they came to town and I was on a band that played a lot of their old stuff. Me and my bassist met Lars, Kirk and Jason at a club in east St. Louis, hung out with em all night . The next night had comp tickets and backstage passes, it was epic. To think that was 28 years ago, and today, I’m still on a band that plays their older stuff.... seeing those fans in the snake pit brought it back man....

Yes he did play guitar, he just decided to concentrate on vocals, cuz he didn't think someone could make it doing both, he thought a band needed a "front man" and everyine was ALWAYS looking for singers, but he never liked the guitar replacements, so he went back and forth on each, but decided to just do both.

Total pros!! Hetfield is a beast working through that mess. You would never know unless you saw it on video. Thanks for the upload. Much respect to this band at this time. Amazing!
