Just one correction, when Daniel says, "Laban's gold plates would have probably been written in this 'Paleo-hebrew'" he meant that Laban's brass plates were written in Egyptian. Mosiah 1:4 "For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates; for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians therefore he could read these engravings".

Silver scrolls ( written in ancient hebrew) were found in a tomb in Jerusalem that were dated around the same time the brass plates were taken by Lehis family.

lyle hall billet steel was around some 600 years before Christ. The far easterners created and traded it with Babylon & Assyria. Check that. Btw, carbon is “ADDED” to iron to create steel.

David, "rejected by scholars" is where I would question their statement. If it said rejected by the General authorities, I would end the entire discussion! Read church history and comments from leaders of the church, combined that with DNA group X. Who's to say how far the Book of Mormon people spread across the lands of the western hemisphere.

David , there's plenty of videos about the U.S. heartland model. Check out "Mormon Evidence", Wayne May and Rod Meldrum. There are plenty of LDS scholars who support the US Heartland Model. Others support the Mesoamerica model. The church hasn't taken a position either way. However, the US Heartland LDS scholars do have some compelling evidence (DNA for example) to support their school of though. Also, Joseph Smith and the Lord themselves said that the Lamanites were the predecessors of the Native American tribes (multiple times in fact), not the ones in Mesoamerica. To me, it's important to keep an open mind as we don't know for a fact how far north, south, east and west did the people of the Book of Mormon migrated. Both school of thoughts have their own proofs.

@@williamchambers5419 General Authorities are not the experts. Many have stated that the science should be left to the scholars and professors. General Authorities are ecclesiastical leaders, not scientists.

@@dcarts5616 A feeling that something Is true does not make it true. when something is in heinous conflict with the word of God (the Bible) we can be fully assured that it is not from God. there is no book on the planet with more evidence of it's authenticity than the Bible. we can research every word back to the original Hebrew and Greek if we have any questions regarding a translation from those original languages. let me ask you a question, if I told you that God told me that it's OK that I go rob a 7-Eleven how would you respond to me?

@@protruth1 The message of the Book of Mormon is simple; come unto Christ. That’s what I learn more and more every time I read it. I couldn’t care less that at this time only 80% of previous objections to the BoM can be proved now. I couldn’t care less that over 30,000 grammatical, spacing, settings, spellings and even changes from white to pure (the first born lamb is sacrificed because it is pure, not only because it is white) or that at this time only Nahom from the BoM can be physically 100% identified from it. I only care that it helps a) those losing their faith in their Redeemer know that two witnesses from opposite sides of the world testify very clearly of the divinity of Jesus Christ, and b) that it testifies to all who do believe that they can stay the path (or try their best) and expect to live again with Him and our Father in Heaven, and even those who came before us. God bless Joseph Smith, for being a willing and able tool in God’s hands to give us more reason to believe in the atonement, to obey God’s commandments even if it’s hard and even if we’re ridiculed from all directions for doing so. Please, anyone who’s curious, just read the whole book. Study it out. Pray about it. I guarantee you at least come out of the book loving your Savior even more. If it’s easier, put down your phone, turn off your computer, and pray for a clear mind to be able to recognize how the Spirit speaks to you, and just enjoy. Anyone who reads this, I’m not interested in arguing, I’m simply testifying to you my beliefs, and inviting you to study the Book of Mormon, and enjoy the peace the messages ABOUT Christ and FROM Christ bring to you. Yes, only one part of the world was worth God’s communication at that time, according to you. I believe God loves ALL of His children, and more examples of His communications with His ancient people will come to light in the future, assuming it hasn’t all been melted, burned, lost, sold etc. More witnesses of Christ is a bad thing to you? I love knowing that not only the Eastern world was considered important enough to have the Gospel. Just a few words from The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ (notice how it is titled another TESTAMENT, not another GOSPEL, of Jesus Christ) are below: 2 Nephi 29: 7-14 7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth? 8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? I testify, that the book of mormon is a fraud, and that everyone can know the truth by the standard God has already provided, the bible. Nowhere does the bible say to pray about whether something is true or false and go by a feeling. Truth is determined solely by whether what one says lines up with the word of God, the BIBLE.

For anyone reading this, this is what the Book of Mormon is: The Book of Mormon, an account written by the hand of Mormon, upon plates taken from the plates of Nephi. Wherefore, it is an abridgment of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites-Written to the Lamanites, who are a remnant of the house of Israel; and also to Jew and Gentile-Written by way of commandment, and also by the spirit of prophecy and of revelation-Written and sealed up, and hid up unto the Lord, that they might not be destroyed-To come forth by the gift and power of God unto the interpretation thereof-Sealed by the hand of Moroni, and hid up unto the Lord, to come forth in due time by way of the Gentile-The interpretation thereof by the gift of God. To anyone who wants to exercise a little faith, try out the promise from The Book of Mormon, extended by a Prophet named Moroni, who hid up the plates that eventually made their way into the hands of Joseph Smith: Moroni 10:3-5 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. I pray anyone who attempts this, with pure intent, receives some form of spiritual witness testifying of this companion text to The Bible is true.

The Indians mined gold for thousands of years the Spanish inquisition looted it for themselves and Rome along with there golden plates that they brought from Atlantis with them which were vaulted and smeltered to guild the temples in Europe with this is the gold that there currencies are backed with to this day.

There are over 160 passages that speak of the lord Jesus Christ. 22 men named who saw Christ, some form of Christ is mentioned on avagage of every 1.7 vs. The new testament mentioned of a form of Christ name on average of every 2.1 vs. The name of the savior appears more frequently in the book of Mormon than in the the new testament.

The fact is: that here in Mexico in our History is tought that a white came to teach in teotihuacan, Quetzalcoatl, and in Merida, Kukulcan, and he was God and tought the ancient people to love each other and to end the sacrifices and believe in one God and promised he would be back, that is why when Cortez arrived the natives thought that he was back...... (and of course he was white and wear a beard) ancient mexicans didn´t grow facial face.... (I'm mexican and we learn this at school

The real value of the Book of Mormon is its testimony of Jesus Christ: Hellman 14: 29-31 29 And this to the intent that whosoever will believe might be saved, and that whosoever will not believe, a righteous judgment might come upon them; and also if they are condemned they bring upon themselves their own condemnation. 30 And now remember, remember, my brethren, that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself; for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for behold, God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free. 31 He hath given unto you that ye might know good from evil, and he hath given unto you that ye might choose life or death; and ye can do good and be restored unto that which is good, or have that which is good restored unto you; or ye can do evil, and have that which is evil restored unto you.

The adversary is very proficient of leading people off the path to eternal life. He can even make it seem reasonable and inconsequential to easily do so. He whispers, let go of the iron rod and things will get easier for a while? He knows when you are feeling discouraged and convinces you that it is simply not worth it anymore. You’ve failed! It is at your lowest point that he finally convinces you to let go of the path and everything will eventually be alright. He then convinces you that leaving will only be temporary and you can always go back later. Yes, right now you deserve a break from worrying about the Lords expectations. The adversary fails to tell you that the longer you are away the path that your mind slowly becomes darkened from spiritual desire’s to the point you have no urgency or need to go back. Without constant spiritual nourishment your soul slowly dies toward spiritual things. How do you recognize that you are in Satan’s carnal security state? You experience feelings of obstinacy with the church and leaders as if they are hindering you from doing what you actually want in life. You feel a desire to repel priesthood influences from your family and home not wanting to admit that it is even happening. Praying stops for meals, bedtime, family, and for all aspects of your life and Satan laughs. Other more important things now occupy your life above that which is most important. Feelings of anger can even set in towards spiritual things that you once had joy in doing. This is what every person will experience who fails to admit what is happening to them when they leave the path and forget what they once knew was true. The only hope is to shake off the mist of darkness and return quickly to the path again and try to rebuild and resist a blind faithless lifestyle and restore that which has been greatly weakened. If all else fails the adversary uses his most potent weapon that nearly always works to turn people away from the church. He employs a Nazi Priesthood Mormon in the ward to impose upon you a devastating guilt trip in order to compel you by force to do the right thing. He hits you very hard at the most vulnerable moment to put you down personally and make you feel stupid and wrong. Actually, the adversary knows that a Nazi Mormon will effectively turn you off spiritually more than anything else can ever hope to do by imposing Satan’s unrighteous dominion. No wonder the Lord warned everyone in the church about this guy in section 121! He without a doubt is the most dangerous threat working inside Gods kingdom while most good people fail to even see him working his priest craft by targeting the weaker saints. He is the guy who appears to be righteous on the outside but seeks to use authority that he does not have in order to play God over others. The ultimate Judas betrayal will sting you very hard and offend your soul to the brink of poisoning you to resist all trust in the priesthood or in the church. The adversary’s counterfeit poisoning attack tempts you to paint the entire church with a broad brush and mistakenly decide that all church members are represented by this Nazi Mormon type practicing unrighteous dominion experience. Once you have been poisoned by this suppressive attack then a well-meaning Bishop or true friend might approach you right afterword’s in order to sincerely help you while you sub consciously interpret his intentions as being evil also by lumping him into the very same category and mistrust. How does Satan destroy your faith? You are deceived into resisting the righteous man’s help because you were poisoned by the unrighteous mans poison. But, just as Jesus had his own Judas who offended him, so shall we likewise have our own Judases to test our love for God. What if Christ had walked away after being offended by Judas and said forget it? What if he had said I’m out of here, let somebody else worry about it now? I hate all Mormons now. What is it we must all watch out for in this life? The Adversary works upon us by inflaming our negative emotions to overpower our clear thinking processes to tempt us to throw it all away. If you don’t expect this will happen to you by recognizing such offenses will surely come to test your devotion to God then you will surely fall right to the adversaries plan and lose it all. If that were not true then why does the adversary set this trap up for you to fall into? He successfully snares many this way. These are the souls who build their foundations upon the sand instead of the rock. Such must rebuild again or parish forever.

I found this very interesting, though I couldn't help but grin when he said these things weren't controversial. They are only not controversial until someone makes them controversial. There is no fact, no matter how well-documented, that lacks a "controversy". From Evolution to the Moon Landing to 9/11. There's always a conspiracy theorist or some "new age scientist" who could make liquid water controversial if it would benefit their point of view and/or (usually a very solid and) make money.

Much older than that, My Friend. The older tribes under the original "gods" had split up Earth and some were sent to North/Central America as their domain. This is behind the reason for certain similarities in stories and traditions. See Sumerian and Assyrian accounts for corroboration.

Interesting archeology lecture no doubt. But sorry to say but I'm not convinced because where are the many cities, even big ones, that the Nephite people built? Are they lost? How can big cities disappear without leaving any ruins? Can someone give light regarding this issue? Greetings and blessings to everyone from Finland 🇫🇮

Open your eyes, there are forgotten ancient cities been found that have been hidden under the trees of the america's, and many mounds in the land etc... ancient palaeo hebrew writings on the rocks and more.

None of these claims has stood up to examination by reputable scholars. No inscriptions using Old World forms of writing have been shown to have occurred in any part of the Americas before 1492 except for a few Norse rune stones which have been found in Greenland."

@@erina45861) of course cities have been found BUT archeological excavations can't link them to BoM. Where are the synagogues, churches even temples mentioned in BoM? Writings in reformed Egyptian? Skeletons of horses, pigs, sheep, wheels even chariots? 2) Mounds in Northern America. Native American made them. They were just burial mounds, sacrifice places etc BUT absolutely nothing links them to Book of Mormon.

@Petri Salonen: look up the Mi'kmaq system of writing. That could very well be a vestigial form of reformed Egyptian - and if that doesn't convince you, many of these characters are very similar to the "Caractors" from the Gold Plates Martin Harris took for Professor Anthon to examine. Fascinating stuff. As for the temples and synagogues, we don't know what they looked like. We don't know whether they still exist (since they were probably mostly wood), and if they do, we don't know their form or what to expect - therefore, we can't necessarily link them to buildings we did find. However, mounds are consistend with the way the Book of Mormon says they buried their dead. If that's not enough, artifacts made of copper and iron are frequently found inside those mounds, including breastplates, headplates, armplates and, yes, things that look very much like straight and curved swords. Moreover, hundreds of ancient Hopewell city remains have exactly the kind of defensive architecture Captain Moroni was said to have built - ditches and embankments all around the cities, coupled with wooden palisades and occasional towers. Your statement that nothing has ever been found is incorrect. There is a LOT of archeological discoveries that can be linked to the Book of Mormon. And yes, over a dozen ancient artifacts with Hebrew writings on them were found. Many dismiss them as forgeries, but that is not a conclusive fact.

Heavely Father is God, Jehovah (Jesus Christ) is the Son of God and was given the authority to do al things that He did (He was known as the Word Of God and He is God also). Heavenly Father has a Father who is His God. They have all proven themselves willing to follow their Father's commandments and will, as Jesus Christ said that He does the will of His Father. Thus there is one will and one obediance (full obedience) by those given the power to be Fathers (Gods). There are not "many wills" among those that have been given this power, but "One Will" full obedience and freedom to act within that obedience. Thus "One God".

Read John 20:17 when Jesus Christ said the True Relationship we have with our Savior and Heavenly Father.

YOU obviously have never read the book of mormon properly, and if you did, did you open your eyes? Every church in the entire world proudly displays the name The Church of "Jesus Christ" of Latter Day saints in the front of the building. +nephi man You know that the church changed names a few times, right? Yes that's what it ended up with, but It was everything from The Church of Christ (why the RLDS took a similar name) to Church of Latterday Saints. So at one point Christ wasn't in the title.

Scott M Interesting, I was not aware that zif meant curved sword in Egyptian. When ziff is referred to in the BOM, it is listed along with other precious materials, and not in reference to any weapons. But the fact that obsidian was used to create the curved swords led me to speculate that "ziff", could be obsidian. The presenter apparently didn't know what ziff meant either, and I would be interested to know what scholarship he was referring to 9:40

God the father is literally the father of our spirits. All men including you, me, Moses, Abraham, Noah, Enoch, Abel, Cain, and Adam, all mortals on this earth. God the father is also the father of the spirits who will not have the opportunity to be mortals on this earth and get a physical body because they chose to follow Lucifer. Lucifer, Satan or the devil was cast out of heaven because of rebellion against God the father.

Your comment couldn't be further from the truth. I challenge you to read at least 5 pages of the Book of Mormon and not see multiple references to Jesus Christ. Every church in the entire world proudly displays the name The Church of (Jesus Christ) of Latter Day saints in the front. The Temples also display this name along with the House of the Lord as in ancient times. As for the man who translated this record, I would have to say actually read the book all the way through before criticizing.

The message of the Book of Mormon is simple; come unto Christ. That’s what I learn more and more every time I read it. I couldn’t care less that at this time only 80% of previous objections to the BoM can be proved now. I couldn’t care less that over 30,000 grammatical, spacing, settings, spellings and even changes from white to pure (the first born lamb is sacrificed because it is pure, not only because it is white) or that at this time only Nahom from the BoM can be physically 100% identified from it. I only care that it helps a) those losing their faith in their Redeemer know that two witnesses from opposite sides of the world testify very clearly of the divinity of Jesus Christ, and b) that it testifies to all who do believe that they can stay the path (or try their best) and expect to live again with Him and our Father in Heaven, and even those who came before us. God bless Joseph Smith, for being a willing and able tool in God’s hands to give us more reason to believe in the atonement, to obey God’s commandments even if it’s hard and even if we’re ridiculed from all directions for doing so. Please, anyone who’s curious, just read the whole book. Study it out. Pray about it. I guarantee you at least come out of the book loving your Savior even more. If it’s easier, put down your phone, turn off your computer, and pray for a clear mind to be able to recognize how the Spirit speaks to you, and just enjoy. Anyone who reads this, I’m not interested in arguing, I’m simply testifying to you my beliefs, and inviting you to study the Book of Mormon, and enjoy the peace the messages ABOUT Christ and FROM Christ bring to you!

the "Elephant" in the living room is the fact that every 1.7 verses in the Book of Mormon (on average) there is some reference to Jesus Christ or some reference to his atonement or to His singular ability to act as our advocate before the Father.........the BOM's power to convert us all to Jesus Christ is un-matched (and I love the Bible!).......to choose to ignore this "elephant in the living room" while focusing on the few flies flying around the elephant is truly a self inflicted wound........really, those who choose this path are only hurting themselves (and I am a Doctor that specializes in accurate diagnosis) ---- you are denying to yourselves the very thing that can heal psychological and spiritual pathologies that have been handed down to you from your parents and grand-parents.........beyond that, you are denying to yourself a closer relationship with God the Father and Jesus, His resurrected Son........and you are denying to yourself an eternal union with your loved ones.........I am a former Catholic (till age 14) and a former atheist (till 20)........and a former BOM skeptic (until page 40 of that great and true book).......it was the smartest decision I ever made, to read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it was true or not........

The Church is true irrespective of the evidence found. The testimony of the truth is given by the Holy Spirit. If you want to know if Joseph Smith was a true prophet, there is only one way and that is to ask God. I know the Book of Mormon is true and I knew it for I really had a sincere desire to know.

+israel rod That is the best statement I ever heard, that is true, you have to have a sincere desire to know, and the holy spirit will help you. =) Since the truth can not be found without the Holy Spirit. For me as a child, I was worried about my salvation, but I didn't want to waist my time on something that wasn't true, so I asked God if he was there, and which church was his, because I couldn't trust anyone to ask them. God then showed me his son in a vision in a mirror when I was fifteen, and then in a vision in the bible that changed me so I could see it when I saw it. That my friend is the Pearl, my half the letter written on the heart, that matched Joseph Smiths half to make a hole picture. It was great. =)

Gwen, I made several attempts to get the answer I was looking for. Perhaps, what helped me find God and receive the knowledge of his existence was that I had a very difficult situation in my life and really had a strong desire to know if he really was there to help me. Of course, this is not the way for all, I have met a lot of people, who have come to know God by just being humble and willing to do whatever it takes to get close to Him, having little faith, but believing and God has gradually made them stronger. One thing I have done over and over in my life is to pray always, even in sunny days. When life gets tough I do it with all my might and God really answers.
