I do like Metaphor but can respect your opinion. Though, small correction, you meant "heterochromatic" at 9:50

It's called heterochromia, and I agree it's ugly, however, I think this servers a very good point of showcasing that the protagonist is literally so different and we perceives his eyes and hair immediately, but none of the characters never even mentions that, they all just noticed the lack or similarities of the other races. Also the battle song slaps, I love this kind of chanting in the background, it makes things feel more fantastical and mystical, the composition is also so beautiful arranged. Atlus loves doing this chanting thing, look at their Shin Megami Tensei series for example, and you see lots of those (to point specific examples, Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey main battle theme, is a beautiful militar orchestra with theses Latin chantings) A shame you didn't vibe with the game. I personally been playing the game and I thought the setup at the beginning was very interesting, but heavily carried thanks to the very attentive and enthralling world building + pretty good visuals, scenes and acting. The game definitely gets more layered as it goes on, but also have not beaten the game, I just barely got to the point where It's open world.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I find it really confusing that you took the kids marvelling at the book at face value. I just started playing the other day and it sounds like you got a little farther than me, but I figured that them just saying the real world was a utopia was supposed to be dramatic irony as I feel anyone who's old enough to play this game probably understands at least on some level that inequality exists around the world. The fact that the evil monsters are called humans, that the lowest race in the fantasy most closely resembles real humans, and how vaguely they talk about the real world all seem to heavily foreshadow that these ideas will be upturned for the characters.
