I think I would rather have Jimmy Red than rubies any day! My paw used to plant an acre of golden bantam that he saved from year to year and he planted with a springy jab style planter. His brother used to plant 5 acres of IoChief to sell off the back of his truck. He planted with a planter similar to yours. So nice to see this and your attention to kernels that are just the right shape and size, makes a big difference. Enjoyed this so much! Thank you for sharing!

Evenin Justro, that planter is hypnotic for me. Very relaxing, great video. Did you plant different sides of the same field or a different field to keep from cross pollination? Also, what do you do with the odd shaped 2nds seeds, mill them and eat them? I havent really seen animals on your place cept dogs. Your 3rd quality organic scraps could be cracked and very easily sold to the community for animal feed. Missed the girls again, I hope they get to feelin better soon. Bless your little family....

Beautiful corn. I like the red one. I’ve grown corn a few times. Bloody Butcher for the chickens that I ground on my hand cranked cast iron grinder to put in their feed. That took a bit of work, but doable on the small scale. I’ve also grown sweet corn, which I love, but it takes up room for small yield in my gardens. I figured a number of years ago that corn is impractical for me to grow. Plus, I never know when the farmer west of us will plant field corn and it will then cross with mine. He switches back and forth between corn and soy beans. Anyway, yours looks really nice.
