I'm an old (63) newbie (3-4 months, weekly, one-hour lessons). Your channel is criminally (I hate hyperbole, but...) under-subscribed. You gained a sub.

Good clear instruction without the fluff and other weird stuff. Thank you !! I'm a new subscriber now.

Hey Steven! Your channel is really helping me develop into a better drummer. I'm currently marching with cornerstone percussion in San Diego CA (rookie season). Your videos have really really helped out a lot. I just wanted to thank you for creating this channel and putting out helpful content!

Would it help to playing double strokes on a pillow using drum sticks for awhile and then play on tenors and they feel that good clean sound
@503music63 жыл бұрын
Look at your technique while doing that, then like you said, play on tenors or a quad pad, record yourself, look at the pros playing, and ask people you know in person as well

Using my fingers with the rebound of the stick works for me when I do the frebch grip. But I have a hard time using my fingers the same way when holding my drumsticks the normal way because the finger tips can't reach the stick as well. Do you have tips?
@TheQuadMethod3 жыл бұрын
That sounds unusual. I suspect you're not holding the stick in a manner that allows you to utilize finger well. Otherwise your fingers must be very short. Send me a picture and I can give you a better answer to that.

How can you get through the exercise without your fulcrum sliding up the stick?
@TheQuadMethod6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you can't help it. Moist hands or frictionless sticks make it difficult to do, so maybe try another pair of sticks. But sometimes it happens because of the angle of your hand. It may be causing your fulcrum to be pushed up the stick. Mess around with the angle of your wrist and maybe how vertical your fulcrum is relative to the pad

Uhm my left hand chops are so bad that I can’t do this without using no wrist, any advice guys?
@TheQuadMethod5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Try using the other hand to hold your playing hand still. And your wrist doesn't have to be perfectly still at first. This is just to get the feeling in your hand so that you're aware of what's happening.
