Watching this is a HUUUUUGE nostalgia trip for me. I hadn't played this game since it first came out, back in 2004 (I was 14 years old!) so I haven't seen this for a good 10 years. Man, this brings back memories. Bitter, precious memories of this painful, brutally difficult, amazing game.

Thankfully the Prime Trilogy version makes the bosses more tolerable. Still hard, but worth it. Also the Alpha Blogg; in my opinion, is the worst boss in the game because not only that your backslide move works 50 percents at the time, but I swear that sometimes when I hit missiles in his mouth perfectly, the game acts like it didn't take damage. That is annoying.

I was finding the bosses not that hard (Trilogy version), then I found out "normal" difficulty is actually "easy", and GC version had no spring ball, now I feel like I was cheating

Note: This video is originally in 60fps. When you see the ball not moving when he's doing the morph ball glitch in the beginning, it's actually flipping between two states at 60fps in the original video- it's very impressive if you've got the connection to watch the whole video! So I think the reason why the infinity speed and cutscene trigger work to set you OOB is because once the 2nd cutscene ends, Samus’ vertical position in Temple Ground is some distance less than the top of that shaft. Theoretically the new position would be negative to the new room (Hive Chamber A), so probably why it ends up sending you to the bottom of that room’s box. I love this game so much and this run is a huge nostalgic moment 😩

I know it. I have a copy and I'm almost terrified to play it anymore since it's so scratched up, even though it does work. Nobody selling used copies bothers to list the numbers at the back, so there's no telling if any of the used copies online are the un-patched version.

This is truly an impressive run. I'm glad I got to watch Miles play MP1 and MP2. I never realized how broken these games were. I'll check out his twitch channel some time. Not to sound like a grammar policeman, but shouldn't the name of this be "Awesome Games Done Quickly 2013?"
@360noscopeinator911 жыл бұрын
I agree. I have an original un-patched copy and the patches made that game far worse, amidst fixing the two freezing glitches at Chozo Ruins. I'm still holding tight to my original un-patched version of the game that I've had since release. Don't know if you'll see this or respond to this, but I wanted to ask if you know of a way to make a ROM out of the disk. I want to make a backup of it so it'll last forever, since I don't know if I'll ever find an original un-patched version of MP1 again.

It's generally okay if you have a powerful computer. But even then, some games just won't play very well. One example is F-zero GX. If you try to play with more than just a few other racers, it'll cripple even the most powerful machines out there. The Metroid Prime series is another example. The first one won't go more than 15 or 20 frames a second no matter what. I would say about two thirds of GC games work just fine, though. I played the Pikmin and Monkey Ball games flawlessly.

Making ROMs from Gamecube games is stupidly hard because the discs rotate in opposite direction to other optical drives, iirc there was something you could do with the Phantasy Star game for the Gamecube that lets you rip ROMs, but it's quite rare because of that. Don't quote me on any of this though; it's been years since I looked into GC ROMs.

Who cares? What was the point of even pointing it out in the first place? People like you are the reason the world is such a shitty place. Your comment is like the people that say "I'm not a racist but.." and then say something completely racist.
@eppinizer10 жыл бұрын
nrdsgtbck101 No, it is nothing like that. It's more like if someone pointed out there is someone wearing a very green shirt. You are the one who made it into something negative, and even compared it to racism. I would take some time to self reflect. You viciously blame me for being the reason why the world is a "shitty place" for simply pointing out a neutral characteristic. I guess anyone who points something out is a terrible person. I stand by what I said. He does sound really flamboyant. So much so that I thought it was worth commenting about. Have a nice day.

Well, there is an existing ROM of Metroid Prime online you can play in Dolphin, but I haven't been able to get far enough in to tell what version it's based from. Even on my gaming-grade hardware the game can barely play. Also, there seems to be as many GC roms as roms for any other older console, so there's gotta be someone who knows how to do it. Maybe I just gotta do more research into who might know.
