Eh well I’d gotten the game a couple years ago now so I’ve had a fair share with it now. Plus I’m actually really happy it came to switch online coz now more people can play it (which they should 👀)

I'd argue Zero Mission is the spiritual successor to Super Metroid because the team had learned from everything they accomplished in both Super & Fusion.

That's a really good point which makes a lot of sense considering some of the additions to this game compared to the original come from super

Just started a replay of zero mission since they added it to switch online and then your video came up in my feed, great video! Zero Mission was the very first Metroid game I played for my GBA back when I was little, it’s very near and dear

I’ve replayed (times I’ve played again) Zero mission: 8 AM2r: 7 Super: 11 Fusion: 13 Dread: 12 Metroid is my favourite game franchise, it combines what I like most about games and I think these results show how much lol

They are really amazing games, probably my second favourite Nintendo franchise after smash personally. I’m currently playing through AM2R and it is very well made, especially for a fan game

Just finished a 100% replay of zero mission since it got added to NSO and I honestly enjoyed it way more than the first time I played it. My first metroid game was Super and I played it for the first time just a few years ago. It is my favourite metroid and genuinely one of my favourite games of all time. I still think zero mission is fantastic tho, the UI is certainly much less frustrating then having to button mash select in Super and the weighty, snappy movement has its merits! Great video!

Yeah there's definately a lot to appreciate about super, especially considering that it can out like 10 years prior to ZM, it's just a me thing about what I appreciate more from games as well as the annoying aspects of super that drag it down just a bit in my eyes. Still a great game tho

I’m 32 years old and really late to the Metroid franchise and only been a fan for about 3 years, and ohhh boyyyy… I have missed out on some greatness! I bought a Wii U just for Donkey Kong, but then I ended up buying the Metroid Prime trilogy as well as Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission after my best friend told me I should, so I did it. I’ve tried out all the games I bought (including all the Metroid games on Switch) but only completed Zero Mission just yesterday (on Nintendo Switch LOL). I’m kind of in the same boat as you and so far, Zero Mission has been my favorite! It’s a masterpiece. I’d love to hear your opinions on more Metroid games! 😊 I loved your analysis! I subbed

Haha thank you! Yeah I'm in a very similar boat to you it seems in regards to metroid and I'm so glad I have played as much as I have as it's an amazing franchise, probably my second favourite Nintendo franchise after smash. I definately Intend to make more metroid content sometime, potentially on dread as that game is phenomenal or fusion as it's quite underated imo. Tho I'll probably get to both and more sometime. I am sooooo happy you made this video! I see so much praise for super and it’s great that so many feel that way, but I most certainly do NOT. Super shares the slow/floaty-ness from the old ones, which ZM, Fusion, SR & Dread don’t have. Super also has a run button…which none of the other Metroid games have, because of that, I always forget it exists. I guess if I played Metroid NES, and Metroid 2 before super, my opinion of super would be a little different but because we have such banger remakes of the first 2 games, Fusion is great & Dread is goated, it makes super stand out in the worst ways

Yeah, super is still a high quality game with lots of care put into it and I can very much appreciate that but I just feel that there are some glaring issues with it that keep it from being a masterpiece like I see the new Metroid games as

It's up there on the Top 5 of my favorite titles in the series. Alongside Super, Primes 1 & 2 and Dread. I honestly have a hard time saying that I like any of these games over another in said top 5 as my favorite in the series honestly.

Yeah, I agree. Zero Mission controls way better than Super Metroid which I am currently playing. Zero Mission was just a banger. This is coming from someone with no nostalgic attachment to Metroid. I just started the series last year
